APPLICATIONThis m aterial was originally released for non-visible areas of theunderb ody in service repair applications e.g. wheel arch and/or asspecified on the Engineering drawing. Compatibility w
3、ith adjacent materialsis required (see para 3.15).3. REQUIREMENTS3.1 STATISTICAL PROCESSSupplie rs must conform to the requirements of Ford Quality SystemStanda rd Q-101. A mutually acceptable Control Plan as describedth erein is required for material/source approval. Appropriatestatist ical tools m
4、ust be used to analyze process/product data sothat variation in the final product is continuously reduced.3.2 INFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRY AND/OR THERMAL ANALYSISFord Motor Company, at its option, may conduct infrared and/ortherma l analysis of material/parts supplied to this specification.The IR spec
5、tra and thermograms established for i nitial approval shallconst itute the reference standard and shall be kept on file at thedesignated material lab oratory. All samples shall produce IR spectraand thermograms that correspond to the reference standard when testedunder the same conditions.3.3 CONDIT
6、IONING AND TEST CONDITIONSAll test values indicated herein are based on ma terial conditioned ina control led atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relativehumidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under thesame conditions unless otherwise specified.3.4 COLOR Black3.5 SOLIDS, min

9、l when lightly to uched with the tip offinger.Test Method:1) Apply material under test to steel panels 300 x 100 mm (preparedaccording to FLTM BI 120-01) at a wet coating thickness of 0.8 to1.0 mm (layer).2) Condit ion for 16 h at 23 +/- 2 C and examine as described above.3.10 ABRASION RESISTANCE(AS
10、TM D 968)There sha ll be no exposed metal area showing after 100 L gravelimpact . No loss of adhesion on and around the area of stone impact.Test Method:1) Test panels of 300 x 100 mm (prepared according to FLTM BI 120-01)sha ll be coated with the material under test in such a manner(layer) that aft
11、er curing a dry coating thickness of 1.0 mm isobtained.2) Condition for 16 h at 23 +/- C and expose in a mechanicalconvection oven maintained at 70 +/- 2 C for 120 h.3) After conditioning for 24 h at 23 +/- 2 C, determine the abrasionresistance according to ASTM D 968, except I.D. of tube 25 mm anda
12、t a g ravel throughput rate of 30 - 40 L/h. It shall show no cra cking, flakingor loss of abrasion resistance.Test Method:1) Prepare test specimens in accordance with 3.10, para 1 and 2.2) After conditioning for 24 hours at 23 +/- 2 C expose spe cimens for500 hours to a salt spray fog according to ASTM B 117.3) Determine abrasion resista
15、nce a s specified under 3.10, para 3 and4, and examine test panel for evidence of corrosion.
