PURPOSEANDSCOPE 1.1 This method describes a procedure for evaluating the resistance of woven and knitted fabrics to

31、pilling and fuzzing by the random tumble pilling tester method. 32、s been incorporated in CANCGSB-4.2 series because it can produce useful results and is being used in the field. Because interlaboratory trials have indicated that the test results are not sufficiently reproducible, this method is not recommended for acceptance testing of commercial shipments. Work t

33、o improve the method is being conducted and the resulting improvement will be incorporated when available. The variability of cork liners and the rating of specimens are the causes of some problems. 1.3 Some fabrics that have been treated with a silicone resin or other finishes give erroneously low

34、results in this method because some finishes appear to coat the cork liners during testing. If there is suspicion that this may have occurred during the testing of a fabric with an unknown finish, the used liner should be checked with a standard fabric of known pilling performance. A more meaningful

35、 result will be obtained for fabrics with certain finishes if they are given an appropriate laundering or dry cleaning treatment prior to testing. 2. PRINCIPLE 2.1 Specimens of the fabric are tumbled by means of a rotating propeller located within the cylinder lined with a very mild abradant. Numeri

36、cal rating of the resistance of the fabric to pilling is determined by visual comparison of the specimens with photographic standards. To aid in this visual rating, small quantities of short cotton fibre are added to the cylinder to highlight the presence of the pills. Supersedes Issue of Remplace l

39、. On travaille prsentement amliorer la prsente mthode et toute amlioration y sera ventuellement incorpore. A lheure actuelie, la variabilit des garnitures de lige ainsi que lattribution dune cote aux spcimens sont la source de certains problmes. Certains tissus traits la rsine de silicone ou au moye

40、n dautres apprts donnent des rsultats faussement bas lorsquils sont prouvs selon la prsente mthode parce que certains apprts semblent enduire les garnitures de lige au cours de lessai. Si lon souponne que cela sest produit pendant la mise lessai dun tissu revtu dun apprt inconnu, il est recommand de

41、 comparer la garniture qui a servi avec un tissu tmoin dont la cote de boulochage est connue. Le traitement pralable, soit par blanchissage ou par nettoyage sec, des tissus revtus de certains apprts permet dobtenir des rsultats dessai plus srs. PRINCIPE Des spcimens de tissu sont agits au moyen dun

42、propulseur rotatif plac lintrieur dun cylindre revtu dun abrasif trs doux. Une cote numrique de rsistance du tissu au boulochage est attribue par comparaison visuelle des spcimens aux talons photographiques. Pour faciliter lvaluation visuelle, on place dans le cylindre des petites quantits de fibres
