16、 Test Specimens and Determina-tion of Properties3. Terminology3.1 GeneralDefinitions are in accordance with Terminol-ogy D883 and abbreviations with Terminology D1600, unlessotherwise indicated.4. Classification4.1 Provision is made in this specification for the identifi-cation of vinyl chloride pol
17、ymers and copolymers by use ofTerminology D1600. Additionally, there is provision for dis-tinguishing electrical grades and burning rate by suffix. Thesystem of classification provided in Table 1 permits character-ization and identification of all compounds having propertieswithin the ranges of the
18、combinations that may be selectedfrom the table. Following type identification in accordancewith Terminology D1600, grades are designated by the cellnumber for each property in the order in which they are listedin Table 1, including the suffixes identifying electrical gradesand flammability when req

When a property is notspecified, a “0” is entered as the cell number unless identifi-cation is terminated prior to that point.NOTE 2The manner in which selected materials are identified isillustrated by the examples given below:NOTE 3The cell-type format provides means for close characteriza-
