INTERNATIONAL STANDARD 10040 ITU-T RECOMMENDATION X.701 INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY - OPEN SYSTEMS INTERCONNECTION - SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT OVERVIEW Summary This Recommendation

8、I International Standard, The Systems Management Overview, is the introductory Recommen- dation I International Standard to the X.700-Series Recommendations. It provides an overview to the family of systems management standards; establishes the basis for partitioning the systems management standards

9、 into separate groups, specifjing the scope of each group and identifiing the principal components within each group; gives guidance on the development of systems management standards and identifies how they relate to each other; identifies the principles governing conformance requirements and confo

10、rmance claims to systems management standards; and defines terms for use by other systems management standards. The concepts defined in this Recommendation I Intemational Standard establish a model for systems management, identifi several aspects of systems management (i.e. information, functional,

11、communications, and organizational), and further refine the model to clan these aspects. The modifications incorporated in the 1997 edition include all approved Technical Corrigenda to this Recommendation I International Standard and the approved Amendments 1 and 2 to this Recommendation 1 Internati

12、onal Standard, on Management Knowledge Management and on Management domains architecture. These changes were required to align the Systems Management Overview with the technical contents of approved X.700-Senes Recommendations. X.701(1997 E) i FOREWORD IT (International Telecommunication Union) is the United Nations Specialized Agency in the field of telecommuni- cations. The IT Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T) is

14、 a permanent organ of the ITLJ. The ITU-T is responsible for studying technical, operating and tariff questions and issuing Recommendations on them with a view to standardizing telecommunications on a worldwide basis. The World Telecommunication Standardization Conference (WTSC), which meets every f

15、our years, establishes the topics for study by the ITU-T Study Groups which, in their turn, produce Recommendations on these topics. The approval of Recommendations by the Members of the IT-T is covered by the procedure laid down in WTSC Resolution No. 1. In some areas of information technology whic

16、h fall within ITU-Ts purview, the necessary standards are prepared on a collaborative basis with IS0 and IEC. NOTE In this Recommendation, the expression “Administration” is used for conciseness to indicate both a telecommunication administration and a recognized operating agency. INTELLECTUAL PROPE

There are no conformance requirements on the main body of this Recommendation I International Standard, however it does specifj requirements on standards claiming compliance to systems management. Annex A defines an application context for sys

30、tems management and specifies the rules for negotiating systems management functional units.
