SCOPE. This Commercial Item Description covers swi

2、vel knob jewelers screwdrivers, both metaland anti-static plastic, with interchangeable or fixed blades, as individual screwdrivers, and or sets2. CLASSIFICATION.2.1Type 1 Swivel knob, metal handle body, interchangeable blades.2.2 Type 2 Swivel knob, plastic, anti-static handle body, fixed blades.2.

3、3 Type 3 Swivel knob, plastic, anti-static handle body, interchangeable blades.3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS.3.1 Design. Screwdrivers shall be similar to Figure I, II, or III in construction. The screwdriver bits shall be made of high grade alloy steel hardened andtempered to comply with the specified physical and mech

7、anical requirements.3.2.2 Tvpe 1- Handle Screwdriver Body. The body shall be of steel or aluminum. The swivel knobshall be fabricated of metal or plastic. The chuck shall be made of steel.3.2.3 Tvpe 2- Handle Screwdriver Body. The body and swivel knob shall be fabricated of plasticsuch as but not li

8、mited to cellulose acetate. When specified by the purchaser, the body and swivelknob shall be made of anti-static plastic. 93.2.4 Tvpe 3- Handle Screwdriver Bodv. The body and swivel knob shall be fabricated of plasticsuch as but not limited to cellulose acetate. When specified by the purchaser, the

9、 body and swivelknob shall be made of anti-static plastic. The chuck shall be made of steel.3.3 Construction.3.3.1 Screwdriver Bits. The screwdriver bits shall be hardened and tempered to comply with thespecified physical and mechanical requirements. The cross-sectional shape of the blade shall bero

10、und. The blades shall be free from visible defects such as scale, seams, laps, and cracks.3.3.1.1 Type 1 and Type 3- Interchangeable Screwdriver Bits. The extreme shank end of each bladeshall be flattened on two sides to seat firmly and shall be a good fit in the chuck jaw. The bit shankshall have a

11、 nominal diameter of 0.100 inch +/- 0.002 inches. The nominal bit lengths shall be 1.75+/- 0.25 inch.3.3.1.2 Flat Tip Screwdriver Bit. The blade tip(s) shall be of the type known commercially as cabinettip, the straight sides being approximately parallel to the blade shank. Traditional jewels screwd

The blade tip(s) shall be of the type known commercially asmale hexagonal tip or male spline tip and be manufactured in accordance with ASME/ANSI B 18.3 orASME/ANSI B 18.3.2 for sizes

15、included with ASME/ANSIB 18.3 or ASME/ANSI B1 8.3.2.3.3.1.4 Other Ti Styles and Sizes. Other tip styles such as but not limited to Tom, Pozidrive, SquareRecess, Clutch Head, Frearson, Torq-Set; and other tip sizes not includes in applicable abovementioned industrial staqdards shall be in accordance

16、with acceptable industrial practice and befictionally and dimensionally compatible with the fasteners they are designed to remove and install.It is the intent of this CID to provide the purchaser a vehicle to procure traditional jewelers swivelknob screwdrivers and swivel knob micro fixed blade scre

17、wdrivers with any commercially availabletip style.3.3.2Screwdriver Body.3.3.2.1 Type 1, Swivel Knob, Metal Handle Body, Interchangeable Blades. The body shall becylindrical in shape, and neatly knurled to provide a comfortable handgrip. The handle shall have aminimum nominal diameter of 1/4 inch and

18、 shall have a minimum length of 2-3/4 inches. One end ofthe body shall have a chuck which will securely hold interchangeable blades. The other end shallhave a swivel-type knob. The swivel knob shall be not less than 1/2 inch across flats.3.3.2.2Tvpe 2, Swivel Knob, Plastic, Anti-Static, Handle Body,

19、 Fixed Blades. The body shall beshaped to provide a comfortable handgrip. The handle shall have a minimum nominal diameter of 1/4inch and shall have a minimum length of 2-1 /2 inches. One end of the body shall have a bladessecurely attached. The other end shall have a swivel-type knob. The swivel kn

20、ob shall be not lessthan 1/2 inch across flats or in diameter.3.3.2.3 Tvpe 3. Swivel Knob, Plastic, Anti-Static, Handle Body, Interchangeable Blades. The bodyshall be shaped to provide a comfortable hand grip. The handle shall have a minimum nominaldiameter of 1/4 inch and shall have a minimum lengt

21、h of 2-1/2 inches. One end of the body shallhave a chuck which will securely hold interchangeable blades. The other end shall have a swivel-typeknob. The swivel knob shall be not less than 1/2 inch across flats or in diameter.3.4 Finish.3.4.1 Screwdriver Bits. The screwdriver bits shall have a smoot

22、h, bright polish finish that willproduce a 63 micro-inch roughness height rating, or better. When tested in accordance with ASMEB46. 1, the roughness height rating shall be as specified on all exposed portions other that the tipvicinity. The blades shall be treated in a manner to prevent rust or cor

23、rosion. Plating, if any, shall beadherent. There shall be no evidence of plating peeling, or chipping. The blade hardness shall be 48 to 62 on the Rockwell C scale. When tested inaccordance with ASTM E-18, the hardness will be measured as close
