17、nspecifiedifbydeflectingthespigottothe specifiedamountthesocket,withoutapplyingloadtoit,isdeflectedtomorethanspecified.Thereason isthatexperiencewithtestinglargediameterpipesinaccordancewiththe1996versionhasshownthat forsomepipedesignsadeflectionof10%ofthespigotresultedinadeflectionlargerthan5%ofthe

18、 socketwithoutapplyinganyloadtoit.Thisisthemajorreasonfortherevision. Asupportfortheprofilesunderthedeflectiondevice,seeFigure2,arespecifiedincaseswherethereis ariskthattheprofilesaredeflectedtoomuchwhendeflectingthespigotorsocket. 22、03(E) 3 1Scope ThisEuropeanstandardspecifiesthreebasictestpressuresfordeterminingtheleaktightnessofelastomeric sealingringtypejointsforburiedthermoplasticsnonpressurepipingsystems. Unlessotherwisespecifiedinthereferringstandard,themethodspressuresusedarethefollowing: p 1 :internalnegativeairpressure

23、(partialvacuum); p 2 :alowinternalhydrostaticpressure; p 3 :ahigherinternalhydrostaticpressure. Italsodescribesfourtestconditionsunderwhichthetestcanbeexecuted,asfollows: A: withoutanyadditionaldiametricorangulardeflection; B: withdiametricdeflection; C: withangulardeflection; D: withsimultaneousang

24、ularanddiametricdeflection. Theseconditionscanbeappliedindividuallyorincombination.Theapplicableselectionofthemethod(s) andthecondition(s)shouldbespecifiedinthereferringstandard. 2Principle Atestpieceassembledfrompipesand/orfittingsissubjectedtoaspecificinitialinternalnegativeair pressure, p 1 follo
