Scope1.1 This specification covers asbestos-cement plastic-foamcore panels consisting of a core of insulating cellular plasticsandwiched between and bonded to two sheets of asbestos-cement facing board. Asbestos-cement plastic-foam core pan-els are normally nonload-be
4、aring panels designed for exteriorand interior walls, partitions, curtain walls, and other insulationand decorative purposes.1.2 All measurements and tests necessary for determiningthe conformity of asbestos-cement plastic-foam core panelswith this specification are made in accordance with the testm
5、ethods covered in Sections 6 and 10.1.3 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as thestandard. The values stated in parentheses are provided forinformation only.1.4 WarningBreathing of asbestos dust is hazardous.Asbestos and asbestos products present demonstrated healthrisks for users and
6、for those with whom they come into contact.In addition to other precautions, when working with asbestos-cement products, minimize the dust that results. In order to provide a balanced panel andprevent field warpage, the two asbestos-cement facings shouldhave essentially equal vapor transmission rates.5. Physical Properties5.1 FacingsAsbestos-cement facing shee
16、ts shall conformto the requirements for Type F of Specification C 220 for3.2-mm (18-in.) thickness.5.2 CoreThe plastic-foam core as well as pertinent gradeor type classification shall be as agreed upon by the purchaserand seller. If Urethane is used, it shall conform to therequirements of Specificat
17、ion D 2341.5.3 Strength PropertiesThe average breaking load forpanel specimens conditioned for seven days at 23 6 2C (70 to77F) and 50 6 10 % relative humidity shall not be less thanthat shown in Table 1.5.4 Vapor PermeabilityThe vapor permeance of the com-posite panel is dependent not only on the f
18、oam core, but on theadhesive, facing sheets, and the coating on such facings. Thevapor permeabilities shown in Table 2 are typical values for thecore materials and are not restrictive values for the compositepanel.5.5 Thermal Resistance, RThe average thermal resis-tance, R, = 5 Fft = 2h/Btu (Km = 2/
19、W) = 6 of the panel shallnot be less than the requirements in Table 3.5.6 Adhesive Line BondThe bond of the glue line shallwithstand weather exposure and have such quality that speci-mens in the flexural strength test fail within the core board andnot at any of the glue lines.6. Dimensional Measurem
20、ents6.1 SignificanceThese are routine measurements for thepurpose of determining whether the length and width of theindividual units are as ordered, to ensure that they fit togetherproperly in application, and to determine the uniformity of thespecified thickness.6.2 ProcedureMeasure each test speci
21、men for thickness,using a micrometer caliper having flat anvils approximately 6.4mm (14 in.) in diameter and reading to 0.0254 mm (0.001 in.).Make four measurements on each specimen at the approximatemidpoint of each edge of the specimen, and at least 12.7 mm(12 in.) in from the edge. Average the fo
22、ur measurements, andrecord as the specimen thickness.7. Dimensions, Mass, and Permissible Variations7.1 Asbestos-cement plastic-foam core panels are normallysupplied in the commercial dimensions given in Table 4.However, because of the frequent use of other thicknesses, thescope of this specificatio
23、n is not limited to only the morecommon thicknesses.7.2 Permissible Variation in Dimensions:7.2.1 ThicknessThe permissible variation of any indi-vidual panel from the nominal thickness shall be 61.2 mm (364in.).7.2.2 Width and LengthThe permissible variation of anyindividual panel from the nominal l
24、ength and width shall be63.2 mm (18 in.) and 61.6 mm (116 in.), respectively, asmeasured after 48 h at 23 6 2C (70 to 77F) and 50 6 5%relative humidity.7.2.3 SquarenessThe deviation from squareness shall notexceed 1.3 mm/m (164 in./ft) of width or length.
