Reference: File 30-11B Keywords: Mattress Cover Ticking 1.0 APPLICATION This specification covers three typical types of fabric mattress ticking which are suitable for use as covering for standard truck sleeper cab mattre

5、sses. Optional premium mattress tickings may be specified separately referencing only the performance requirements of this specification. Type I: Polyester/cotton/rayon Type II: Spun polyester Type III: Polyester filament/spun polyester 2.0 SCOPE This specification covers the general requirements, p

6、roperty and performance requirements, quality, quality, qualification, source approval, and quality control for 3 types of mattress ticking. 2.1 Restricted Chemical SubstancesEffective January 1, 2007, all product supplied to the requirements of this specification must comply with the requirements o

7、f the CEMS B-50 specification. 3.0 REFERENCE DOCUMENTS Unless otherwise specified the latest issue of all referenced standards shall apply. 10、ical construction and finished weight requirements. Final requirements shall be set by agreement between the material vendor, the fabricator and TDTC. 4.1 Construction Type I - Warp: 36.0 ends/cm (92 end/in) of cotton rayon. Fill: 12.6 ends/cm (32 ends/in) of polyester Type II - Warp: 33.0 end/cm (8

11、4 ends/in) of spun polyester Fill: 11.8 ends/cm (30 ends/in) of spun polyester Type III - Warp: 9.5 ends/cm (24 ends/in) of polyester Fill: 6.3 ends/cm (16 ends/in) of spun polyester 4.2 Finished Weight Type I - Shall be 0.23 kg/m (6.9 oz/yd) minimum Type II - Shall be 0.2 to 0.22 kg/m (6.0 to 6.5 o

12、z/yd) Type III - Shall be 0.15 to .19 kg/m (4.5 to 5.5 oz/yd) 4.3 Color Shall be equivalent in color and pattern to samples approved by the Industrial Design Department at TDTC. 4.4 Property And Performance Requirements 4.4.1 Tensile Strength 4.4.1.1 Method: ASTM D 751 Grab Method 4.4.1.2 Required T

13、ypes I and III - Warp/Fill: 665/290 N (150/65 lbf) minimum Type II - Warp/Fill: 1265/710 N (285/160 lbf) minimum 4.4.2 Seam Strength 4.4.2.1 Method: ASTM D 1683 4.4.2.2 Required Warp/Fill: 400/400 N (90/90 lbf) minimum; report thread type, stitch type and stitches per centimeter (inch). 4.4.3 Mildew

16、 Abrasion 4.4.5.1 Method: ASTM D 3884 Rotary Platform Double Head Method. Use a CS-10 abrasion wheel with 500 gram load for 50 cycles. 4.4.5.2 Required Wear shall not exceed that of approved master sample in the Industrial Design Department at TDTC. 4.4.6 Sunlight Resistance 4.4.6.1 Method: CEMS GT-

17、31 Method F, expose sample 48 hours; or CEMS GT-31 Method A for 112 kJ. 4.4.6.2 Required No sign of color alteration and tested sample shall be equivalent to approved master sample in the Industrial Design Department at TDTC. 4.4.7 Flammability Resistance 4.4.7.1 Method: Test using procedure specifi

18、ed in latest issue of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 302 - Flammability of Interior Materials, and all requirements of TMS-9544. 4.4.7.2 Required Conformance to requirements of FMVSS and TMS-9544 and certification, per TMS-9543. 5.0 QUALITY Material shall have flexibility necessary for good t

19、ailoring, and shall be uniform as to quality, color, and finish. 6.0 SOURCE APPROVAL AND QUALITY CONTROL6.1 Supplier RequirementsAll suppliers to International Truck and Engine are required to be registered to ISO 9001 Quality System Requirements. International will also accept TS-16949 registration

20、 as long as the supplier can also fulfill all AIAG PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) documentation and approval requirements. Suppliers must maintain their certification with an accredited registrar and must furnish copies of registration certificates to their International Corporate Buyer upo

21、n request. 6.2 ApprovalParts supplied against contracts or purchase orders citing this specification shall be equivalent in all respects to those samples which were approved by the purchaser. No changes in formulation or processing practices are permitted without approval. In the event that changes

22、in material, properties, processing practices, construction, color, or labeling of the product are required, the supplier shall notify Materials Engineering at TDTC and Purchasing and Supplier Development of the proposed change(s). Test data indicating conformance to all requirements of this specifi

23、cation, test samples, and new or amended or updated Material Safety Data Sheet(s) (MSDS), in accordance with CFR Title 29, Part 1910 shall be submitted with the request for change. 6.3 Process ControlThe supplier shall either perform and report results of tests on specific lots of parts produced usi

24、ng ISO 9001 or TS-16949 guidelines, or provide statistical evidence of the lot having been produced in a state of statistical control and with a process capable of providing all required properties.
