4、Copper Tubing; Air Brake Lines 1.0 APPLICATION This specification covers a round, seamless, bright annealed copper tubing used for air brake lines. 2.0 SCOPE This specification covers the manufacture, dimensions, quality, chemical composition, mechanical properties, grain size, performance requireme
5、nts, identification, and certification. The requirements of SAE J1149 (Metallic Air Brake System Tubing and Pipe), Type 1, tubing shall apply unless otherwise specified. 2.1 Restricted Chemical SubstancesEffective January 1, 2007, all product supplied to the requirements of this specification must c
6、omply with the requirements of the CEMS B-50 specification. 3.0 REFERENCE DOCUMENTS Unless otherwise specified, the latest issue of all referenced standards shall apply. It shall be free from nicks, gouges, scale, corrosion products, se
13、ams, cracks, or any internal or external imperfection that may affect the performance of the tubing in an air system. 15、and deburr ends. Expand tubing over a polished mandrel with 60 included angle until average O.D. has been increased 40%. 4.7.1.2 Required: No splits or flaws. 4.7.2 Pressure Proof Test 4.7.2.1.Test Procedure: Test tubing at hydrostatic pressure equivalent to a yield (hoop) stress of 62 MPa (9000 psi
16、) minimum (see table below). NOTE: An electric eddy current test may be substituted for the pressure proof test providing the rejection limits are such that the hydrostatic requirements can be guaranteed.
