Vapors given off during cureare non-acidic and non-corrosive to copper.2. APPLICATIONThis specification was released origina
3、lly to define materials used toseal aluminum housings for electronic applications. The sealants arecapable of being pumped, metered and distributed into gasket profile.3. REQUIREMENTS3.1 QUALITY SYSTEM REQUIREMENTSMaterial suppliers and part producers must conform to QualitySystem Requirements, QS-9
4、000. Material specification requirementsare to be used for initial qualification of materials. A ControlPlan for ongoing production verification is required. This planmust be reviewed and approved by the relevant Ford Materialsactivity and/or Ford Supplier Technical Assistance (STA) prior toproducti
5、on parts submission. Appropriate statistical tools must beused to analyze process/product data and assure consistentprocessing of the materials.Part producers using this material in their products, must use Fordapproved materials and must conform to a process control plan whichhas been approved by S
6、TA and/or the relevant Materials Activity.3.2 INFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRY AND/OR THERMAL ANALYSISFord Motor Company, at its option, may conduct infrared and/orthermal analysis of material/parts supplied to this specification.The IR spectra and thermograms established for initial approvalshall constit
7、ute the reference standard and shall be kept on fileat the designated material laboratory. Start the test by dispensingapproximately 10 cc and then timing the next 50 cc.3.4.4 Cure Pass Pass PassRateTest Method:Apply a 3.18 mm diameter bead of sealer to a steel plateand allow to cure for 5 h at 25
11、+/- 3 C and 50 +/- 5 %relative humidity. After 5 h, compress the sealer bead to aheight of 1.0 mm max for 1 minute. Space bars may be usedfor proper dimensioning. Sealer must be sufficiently curedso the skin does not break, split or crack duringcompression. Additionally, after 168 hours (7 days) cut
12、the bead axially and measure the Shore A material hardnessof the beads center.
