Unless otherwise noted herein or in the contract, in the event of a conflict between the text of this document and the references cited herein, the text of this do

19、cument takes precedence. Nothing in this document, however, supersedes applicable laws and regulations unless a specific exemption has been obtained. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 First article. When specified (see 6.2), samples shall be subjected to first article inspection in accordance with 4.2. 3.2 Materi

20、als. Materials not definitely specified shall conform to the quality normally used for the purpose in standard industry practice. 3.2.1 Steel. 3.2.1.1 Low carbon, cold rolled, sheet and strip. Low carbon cold rolled steel sheet and strip shall conform to 10091020, commercial quality (CRCQ), or tempe

21、r No. 3 respectively of QQ-S-698. 3.2.1.2 Low carbon, hot rolled, sheet and strip. Low carbon hot rolled steel sheet and strip shall conform to commercial quality (HRCQ), pickled and oiled finish (PO), 1009-1020 of QQ-S-698. 3.2.1.3 Spring, flat, carbon, cold rolled sheet, general purpose. General p

22、urpose carbon spring steel shall conform to 70 80 percent carbon commercial grade flat spring quality. 3.2.1.4 Carbon, cold finished, bar. Cold finished carbon bar shall be 1010 or 1015, condition ACD, annealed and cold drawn, any applicable form of ASTM A108. 3.2.2 Plastic molding (nylon). Nylon sh

23、all conform to any color, Group PA01, Class 1, Grades 1 thru 4 or Group PA02, Class 1, Grades 1 thru 4 of ASTM D4066. 24、.4 Enamel. Enamel shall conform to Master Painters Institute, Reference #94, Exterior Alkyd, Semi-Gloss, MPI Gloss Level 5. The color shall be green, FED-STD-595/24084. 3.3 Construction. The construction of the filing cabinet shall conform to the design and details shown on Drawings 5-13-2115 throug

25、h 5-13-2119, 5-13-2124 and as specified herein (see figure 2). 3.3.1 Body. The cabinet body shell, closed and open end supports, channels, reinforcements and rear body plates, shall be fabricated from steel specified in 3.2.1.1. The holder, lock lever, bar, slip key and bracket and lock bar shall be

26、 fabricated of steel specified in 3.2.1.2. 3.3.2 Drawer. The drawer assembly and the follower assembly, except for the spring and handle shall be fabricated from steel specified in 3.2.1.1. The drawer shall mount into the body and the drawer suspension system shall operate smoothly without binding.

27、The follower assembly shall adjust to the full depth of the drawer and shall be removable without special tools. 3.3.2.1 Spring. The spring on the follower assembly shall be fabricated from steel specified in 3.2.1.3. 3.3.2.2 Handle. The handles with mounting plate, on the complete drawer assembly s

28、hall conform to NASM35793, part number MS35793-1 except that the material for the mounting plate shall be as specified in 3.2.1.1 and the material for the handle shall conform to 3.2.1.4. 3.3.2.3 Glides. The glides on the bottom front of the body shall be fabricated of nylon specified in 3.2.2. 3.3.

29、3 Welding. Surfaces to be welded shall be cleaned and free of rust, scale, corrosion, oil and other foreign matter. 3.3.4 Riveting. Holes for rivets containing burrs that would prevent seating of rivets shall be removed. Rivets, when driven shall have heads in full contact with the surface of the co

30、ntacting metal. Rivets shall be securely peened or clinched. Rivet heads shall not be cracked or split. 3.4 Finish. 3.4.1 Surface pretreatment. After fabrication, all surfaces of the filing cabinet shall be pretreated in accordance with Type I or II of TT-C-490. 3.4.2 Priming and enameling. Surfaces

31、, pretreated as specified in 3.4.1, shall be coated with primer specified in 3.2.3. The primed surfaces shall then be coated with enamel specified in 3.2.4. Primer may be omitted from any surface prepared for painting in accordance with 3.4.1, provided not less than two coats of enamel are applied.

32、3.5 Instruction sheet. Each filing cabinet shall be furnished with an 8 by 10.5 inch instruction sheet in accordance with drawing 5-13-211 (see figure 1). The instruction sheet shall be placed inside the filing cabinet between the front panel and the follower. 3.6 Marking. The filing cabinet shall b

33、e marked in accordance with MIL-STD-130. 3.7 Workmanship. All surfaces shall be free of burrs, slivers, rough or sharp edges. Components shall not be broken, cracked, split or malformed. Welds shall be sound and free from porosity, cracks or incomplete fusion. All welds shall be smooth and free from

34、 pits, flashes and burn through. Enamel shall level out to a uniform dry film thickness without runs, drops or areas of no film. The coating shall be free from imbedded foreign matter and shall show no evidence of peeling, flaking or blistering. Provided by IHSNot for ResaleNo reproduction or networ

The inspection of filing cabinets shall be classified as follows: (a) First article inspection (see 4.2) (b) Conformance inspection (see 4.3) 4.2 First article inspection. When a first arti

36、cle sample is required, it shall be examined for defects in Table II and dimensions specified. 4.3 Conformance inspection. Conformance inspection shall include paragraphs 4.3.1 through 4.3.4. Sampling for inspection shall be performed in accordance with the provisions set forth in ASQ Z1.4, except w

37、here otherwise indicated. 4.3.1 Component and material inspection. Components and materials shall be inspected and tested in accordance with all the requirements of referenced specifications, drawings, and standards unless otherwise excluded, amended, modified or qualified in this specification or a

38、pplicable purchase document. 4.3.1.1 Spring steel carbon content analysis. Spring steel shall be analyzed for carbon content using either chemical analysis in accordance with ASTM E1282 or an applicable spectrochemical analysis test method. Two samples shall be taken from each lot of material unless

39、 the lot consists of only one piece, in which case, one sample shall be taken. Failure of any sample to comply shall be cause for rejection of the lot. 4.3.2 In process examinations. Examination shall be made during the manufacturing process for requirements specified in Table I. Whenever nonconform

The sample unit shall be one completely fabricated filing cabinet. 4.3.3.1 Visual examination. Examination shall be made of the end item for defects in Table II. The inspection level sha

46、2 Dimensional examinations. Examinations shall be made of the filing cabinet for compliance with dimensions specified. Any deviation therefrom shall constitute a defect. The inspection level shall be S-2. 4.3.4 Examination of preparation for delivery requirements. An examination shall be made to det

47、ermine that packaging, packing and marking requirements of section 5 of this specification are complied with. Defects shall be scored in accordance with Table III. The sample unit shall be one shipping container fully prepared for delivery with the exception that it need not be sealed. The lot shall

48、 be the number of shipping containers offered for delivery at one time. The inspection level shall be S-2. 49、r acquisition purposes, the packaging requirements shall be as specified in the contract or order (see 6.2). When packaging of materiel is to be performed by DoD or in- house contractor personnel, these personnel need to contact the responsible packaging activity to ascertain packaging requirements. Packaging requirements are maintained by the Inventory Control Points packaging activities
