Scope*1.1 This classification system covers highly crosslinkedthermoplastic vulcanizates (HCTPVs
5、) for extrusion, moldingand other fabrication methods. HCTPVs are thermoplasticelastomers (TPEs) consisting of two or more polymer systemsat least one of which is rubbery and highly (95 %) crosslinkedand at least one of which is thermoplastic, with each systemhaving its own phase. The thermoplastic
6、phase will tend to becontinuous and the rubbery phase discontinuous. The highlevel of crosslinking and ultrafine particle size (ca 1 mdiameter) of the rubbery phase give rise to properties moreclosely approaching those of conventional thermoset rubber, when compared to the same thermoplastic/rubbery
7、polymercomposition with a lower level (#95 %) of crosslinking. TheHCTPV polymer compositions may contain fillers, reinforcingagents, plasticizers, resins, antidegradants, colorants and otherbeneficial constituents. Recycled HCTPVs are not covered inthis classification system.1.2 Included in this cla
