Scope1.1 This specification covers concentric-lay-stranded con-ductors made from round aluminum-zirconium allo

Requirement for Wires5.1 Tests for mechanical and electrical properties ofaluminum-zirconium a

United States15.3 Before stranding, theAMC core wire used shall meet therequirements of Specification B976.6. Joints6.1 Electric-butt welds, cold-pressure welds, and elect
15、ric-butt, cold-upset welds in the finished individual aluminum-zirconium alloy wires composing the conductor may be madeduring the stranding process. No weld shall occur within 50 ft15 m of any weld in the completed conductor (ExplanatoryNote 3).6.2 There shall be no joints of any kind made in the f
16、inishedAMC core wires.7. Lay7.1 The length of lay of the various layers of wires in aconductor shall conform to Table 3 (see Explanatory Note 4).These are expressed in values of lay ratio.7.2 The direction of lay of the outside layer of aluminum-zirconium alloy wires shall be right hand unless other
17、wisespecified in the purchase order. The direction of lay of thealuminum-zirconium alloy wires shall be reversed in succes-sive layers.7.3 The direction of lay of the core wires shall preferably beunidirectional in successive layers.
