17、e system of our country. It seems to me that something has to be done, if were to (26) as a country. I certainly dont know what the answers to our problems are. Things certainly get complicated (27) when you get into them, but I wonder if something couldnt be done to deal with some of these problems
18、. One thing Im concerned about is our practice of putting (28) who havent harmed anyone. Why not work out some system whereby they can pay back the debts they owe society (29) incurring another debt by going to prison and, of course, coming under the influence of hardened criminals. Im also concerne
19、d about the short prison sentences people are (30) for serious crimes. Of course one alternative to this is to (31) capital punishment, but Im not sure I would be for that. Im not sure its right to take an eye for eye. The (32) to capital punishment is longer sentences, but they would certainly cost

In my opinion, anyone who takes another persons life intentionally is insane, however, that does not mean that the person isnt (34) of the crime, or that he shouldnt pay society the debt he owes.
