ITU-T G.9802 (04/2015) i Recommendation ITU-T G.9802 Multiple-wavelength passive optical networks (MW-PONs) Summary Recommendation ITU-T G.9802 describes the general requirements and architecture of multiple-wavelength passive
7、optical network (PON) systems. It specifies the mechanism of wavelength assignment, wavelength tuning and wavelength maintenance in multiple-wavelength PON systems. The functionalities of wavelength resource management and wavelength channel performance monitoring and supervision are also included w
8、ithin the scope of this Recommendation. The specifications in this Recommendation can be applied to various types of multiple-wavelength PON systems. ITU-T G.9802 (04/2015) FOREWORD The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) is the United Nations specialized agen
10、cy in the field of telecommunications, information and communication technologies (ICTs). The ITU Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T) is a permanent organ of ITU. ITU-T is responsible for studying technical, operating and tariff questions and issuing Recommendations on them with a view
11、to standardizing telecommunications on a worldwide basis. The World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly (WTSA), which meets every four years, establishes the topics for study by the ITU-T study groups which, in turn, produce Recommendations on these topics. The approval of ITU-T Recommendatio
12、ns is covered by the procedure laid down in WTSA Resolution 1. In some areas of information technology which fall within ITU-Ts purview, the necessary standards are prepared on a collaborative basis with ISO and IEC. NOTE In this Recommendation, the expression “Administration“ is used for concisenes
13、s to indicate both a telecommunication administration and a recognized operating agency. Compliance with this Recommendation is voluntary. However, the Recommendation may contain certain mandatory provisions (to ensure, e.g., interoperability or applicability) and compliance with the Recommendation
14、is achieved when all of these mandatory provisions are met. The words “shall“ or some other obligatory language such as “must“ and the negative equivalents are used to express requirements. The use of such words does not suggest that compliance with the Recommendation is required of any party. INTEL

ITU-T G.9802 (04/2015) 1 Recommendation ITU-T G.9802 Multiple-wavelength passive optical networks (MW-PONs) 1 Scope This Recommendation describes the general requirements and architecture of mult
22、iple-wavelength passive optical network (PON) systems. It specifies the mechanism of wavelength assignment, wavelength tuning and wavelength maintenance in multiple-wavelength PON systems. The functionalities of wavelength resource management and wavelength channel performance monitoring and supervi
23、sion are also included within the scope of this Recommendation. The specifications in this Recommendation can be applied to various types of multiple-wavelength PON systems such as: a stack of several TDM PON systems in a single ODN, realized by assigning different wavelengths to each TDM PON system
24、, where wavelength tunable devices may be employed in the transceivers, a TDM PON enhanced by dynamic or semi-dynamic wavelength tuning to allow traffic load balancing, selective OLT-port sleep, etc., a WDM PON in which ONUs do not share wavelengths for offering logical point to point connectivity,
