、os-cement plastic-foamcore panels consisting of a core of insulating cellular plasticsandwiched between and bonded to two sheets of asbestos-cement facing board. Asbestos-cement plastic-foam core pan-els are normally nonload-bearing panels designed for exteriorand interior walls, partitions, curtain
、 walls, and other insulationand decorative purposes.1.2 All measurements and tests necessary for determiningthe conformity of asbestos-cement plastic-foam core panelswith this specification are made in accordance with the testmethods covered in Sections 6 and 10.1.3 The values stated in SI units are
、 to be regarded as thestandard. The values stated in parentheses are provided forinformation only.1.4 WarningBreathing of asbestos dust is hazardous.Asbestos and asbestos products present demonstrated healthrisks for users and for those with whom they come into contact. In addition to other precautio
、ns, when working with asbestos-cement products, minimize the dust that results. For informa-tion on the safe use of chrysoltile asbestos, refer to “Safe Useof Chrysotile Asbestos: A Manual on Preventive and ControlMeasures.”21.5 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns, if
、 any, associated with its use. It is theresponsibility of the user of this standard to establish appro-priate safety and health practices and determine the applica-bility of regulatory limitations prior to use. Thevapor permeabilities shown in Table 2 are typical values for thecore materials and are not restrictive values for the compositepanel.5.5 Thermal Resistance, RThe average thermal resis-tance, R, = 5 Fft = 2h/Btu (Km = 2/W) = 6 of
