Scope*1.1 This specification covers structural quality carbon-manganese-silicon steel plates in three tensile strength range

3、sintended primarily for service at atmospheric temperatureswhere improved notch toughness is important.1.2 Plates covered by this specification are limited to amaximum thickness of 1.5 in. 40 mm.1.3 If the steel is to be welded, it is presupposed that awelding procedure suitable for the grade of ste

4、el and intendeduse or service will be utilized. See Appendix X 3 of Specifi-cation A 6/A 6M for information on weldability.1.4 The values stated in either inch-pound units or SI unitsare to be regarded separately as standard. Chemical Composition5.1 The heat analysis shall conform to the requirementsgiven in Table 1.5.2 The product analysis shall conform to the requirementsgiven in Table 1 subject to the product analysis tolerances inSpecification A 6/A 6M.6.
