8、Foreword This Global System for Mobile communications Technical Specification (GTS) has been produced by the Special Mobile Group (SMG) Technical Committee (TC) of the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI). This GTS defines the stage I description of Unstructured Supplementary Servi
9、ce Data (USSD) for use within the digital cellular telecommunications system. The contents of this GTS are subject to continuing work within TC-SMG and may change following formal TC-SMG approval. Should TC-SMG modify the contents of this GTS it will then be republished by ETSI with an identifying c
10、hange of release date and an increase in version number as follows: Version 5.x.y where: y the third digit is incremented when editorial only changes have been incorporated in the specification; x the second digit is incremented for all other types of changes, .e. technical enhancements, corrections
11、, updates, etc. The specification from which this GTS has been derived was originally based on CEPT documentation, hence the presentation of this GTS may not be entirely in accordance with the ETSIPNE rules. 13、 GSM Public Land Mobile Networks (PLMNs). 2 Normative references This GTS incorporates by dated and undated reference, provisions from other publications. These normative references are cited at the appropriate places in the text and the publications are listed hereafter. For dated references, subse

17、ns Abbreviations used in this GTS are listed in GSM O1 .O4 l. 4 Unstructured SS data operations 4.1 Mobile initiated unstructured SS data operations 4.1 .I Initiating action at the Mobile Station (MS) If the user enters an MMI string that, according to GSM 02.30 131, should be treated as USSD, the M
18、S shall send this string to the network using the appropriate operation from GSM 04.80 5. The mobile initiated operation shall contain an alphabet indicator and language indicator. The alphabet indicator shall indicate the alphabet used in the operation and shall be set to “SMS default alphabet“. Th
19、e language indicator shall indicate “language unspecified“. The MS may initiate an USSD Operation either during a call or out of call. 4.1.2 Action at the network A network supporting USSD shall examine the alphabet indicator. If the senring network does not recognize the alphabet indicated in the m
20、obile initiated USSD operation, it shall send the operation to the HLR. On recognition of the alphabet, the network shall examine the contents of the string, and take appropriate action, according to the following rules, depending of the format of the message.
