21、ICATION C22.2 No. 1021958 CONSTRUCTION AND TEST Qf. BROODERS AND INCUBATORS SECTION ABROODERS 1. SCOPE 1.1 This Section applies to both portable and stationary electric brooders, for potentials of 250 volts and less, designed to be used in accordance with the rules of Part I of this Code. 1.2 This S
22、ection applies to electric brooders for use inside buildings on farms and commercial hatcheries. NOTE: Included in the scope are brooders of the hover, battery, and infra-red lamp type. 1.3 This Section does not apply to infra-red heat lamps as lamps. 2. DEFINITIONS 2.1 The following definitions app
23、ly in this Section: Heater element means a complete or partial assembly of heating element, electrical insulation (e.g. refractory, mica), metal sheath, glass or quartz envelope, thermal insulation, and frame or adaptor for holding the assembly together and fastening it in the equipment; Maximum rat
24、ed voltage means the maximum voltage that may be encountered in service for the type of supply. For nominal 115-volt and 115/230-volt supplies, the maximum rated voltage shall be con- sidered as 125 volts and 125,/250 volts respectively; Temperature -regulating thermostat means a thermostat which fu
