5、ions to facilitate the international servicing of aircraft. A British Standard does not purport to include all the necessary provisions of a contract. NOTEWhere metric equivalents have been given, t

8、he figures in British units are to be regarded as the standard. The metric conversions are approximate. More accurate conversions should be based on the tables in BS350, “Conversion factors and tables.” 2 Dimensions a) Plugs. Aircraft fuel nozzle grounding plugs shall conform to the dimensions shown

9、 in Figure 1. b) Sockets. Grounding sockets provided on aircraft shall be suitable to accommodate plugs of the dimensions shown in Figure 1. The diameter of the bore of the socket shall be0.251+0.002in. 3 Connections a) The plugs shall be attached by zinc or tin-coated steel cable to the nozzles of

10、refuelling tankers. The cable shall be not less than4ft.6in.(1.4metres) in length, and not less than0.062in(1.6mm) in diameter. b) The bore of the sockets shall incorporate a device to ensure a good electrical contact when the plug is fully engaged in the socket, such that the overall resistance of

11、the grounding plug/aircraft grounding socket/cable assembly does not exceed0.005ohms when tested between the aircraft structure adjacent to the grounding socket and the refuelling nozzle.
