This standard is intended to enhance levels of safety for agricultural operato

This standard is applicable to most systems designed for the transfer of liquid plant protection products from their original container into the application equipment with the minimum risk to operator safety or of environmental contamination. Compliance with a British Standard does not of itself
10、 confer immunity from legal obligations. BSI 1996 1 BS 6356 : Part 9 : 1996 Specification 1 Scope This Part of BS 6356 gives requirements for a closed transfer system for liquid formulations of plant protection products (PPPs) and specifies the maximum levels of potential contamination during any si

14、ditions. 3 Definitions and abbreviations 3.1 Definition For the purposes of this Part of BS 6356, the following definition applies. closed transfer system Assembly of components to transfer a plant protection product (PPP) from its original container into the application equipment such that no conta
15、mination of the operator or of the environment by PPP occurs. 3.2 Abbreviation PPP Plant protection product. 4 General requirements 4.1 Closed transfer systems for liquid PPPs shall include the following: a) a means of interfacing with PPP containers and application equipment to provide a leak-proof
16、 and secure connection (other than manually held); b) the ability to transfer part or all of the contents of a PPP container with a minimum of leakage or spillage when disconnected from the container or application equipment; c) a design suitable for operation with any liquid PPP; d) a means of flus
17、hing the closed transfer system such that no concentrated PPP remains within the system on completion of the transfer operation. 4.2 Closed transfer systems shall have facilities for rinsing empty PPP containers to the specified level of cleanliness except when dealing with returnable containers. Wh
18、en tested in accordance with annex B, the maximum residue in any rinsed container shall not exceed 0.01 % of the original contents. 4.3 NOTE. As an option, closed transfer systems may have facilities for measuring the quantities of PPP transferred in a single operation and facilities for returning P
19、PP that is within the transfer system but that has not been delivered to the application equipment back to the original PPP container. Where the closed transfer system is equipped with facilities for measuring the quantities of PPP transferred in a single operation and for returning PPP within the s
20、ystem but which has not been delivered to the application equipment back to the original container, it shall conform to 4.13, and shall have an accuracy of greater than 2.5 % of the capacity of the smallest pesticide container with which the system is designed to operate. 4.4 With the closed transfe
21、r system installed on the application equipment, it shall be possible to operate the transfer system and connection procedures by manual devices positioned at a height of 500 mm to 1000 mm from ground level and requiring a forward reach of less than 500 mm. All systems shall be operated with the ope
22、rator standing on the ground. 4.5 Closed transfer systems shall be capable of operation by gloved hands. The maximum force required to actuate any component relating to connection of the PPP container or control of the transfer process shall be 50 N. 4.6 Closed transfer systems shall be mechanically
23、 robust and capable of the following, with no deterioration in respect of leakage or contaminating residues: a) withstanding pressures of twice the maximum stated pressure for any components that operate at pressures above one atmosphere; b) operating for at least 1000 loading cycles at the maximum
24、transfer rate. 4.7 Closed transfer systems shall be designed so that no part of the transfer equipment is subjected to pressures greater than the manufacturers stated maximum for the system. To minimize potential contamination in the event of a failure, no part of the closed transfer system shall op
