6、tober 2002 1 NOTE The specified chemical composition and heat treatment comply with AECMA Recommendation FE-PL47. 1 Inspection and testing procedure 1.1 General. This British Standard shall be used in conjunction with the relevant sections of the latest issue of BS S 100 as follows: 1.2 Sulfur print
7、ing or deep etching tests. One sample shall be taken from each ingot for sulfur printing or deep etching tests. 1.3 Ultrasonic examination. The material shall be ultrasonically tested in accordance with BS S 100, Annex B. 2 Manufacture The material shall be manufactured by an electric process. 3 Che
8、mical composition The steel shall contain: 4 Surface dressing The material shall be overall dressed. Bars for machining delivered in other than the finally heat treated condition (see 5.1)s e c t i o n s 1 a n d 2 Bars for machining delivered in the finally heat treated condition sections 1 and 3 Fo

10、5 0.70 0.020 0.020 3.5 0.70 0.30 0.030BS 4S 106:1976 2 BSI 8 October 2002 5 Condition 5.1 Unless otherwise required by the order, the material shall be supplied in the appropriate condition stated below: 5.2 Parts shall be supplied finally heat treated and, if appropriate, stabilized and nitrided. 6
11、 Heat treatment 6.1 Softening treatment. The softening treatment shall consist of heating uniformly, at a temperature of not less than 700 C. 6.2 Final heat treatment 6.2.1 The final heat treatment shall consist of the following: a) Hardening. Heat at a temperature of 900 10 C, followed by cooling i
12、n oil. b) Tempering. Heat uniformly at temperature of not less than 570 C, followed by cooling in air. 6.2.2 Hardened and tempered bars which have been subjected to a cold straightening or cold rolling operation shall be given a stress-relieving treatment, which shall be sufficient to restore the pr
13、oof stress. 6.3 Stabilizing treatment. The stabilizing treatment, if any, shall consist of heating at a temperature of not less than 510 C nor more than the tempering temperature. 6.4 Blank nitriding treatment. The blank nitriding treatment of the additional impact test samples shall consist of heat
