The document defines the VDSL functional requirements and the transceiver specification bas
7、ed on Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM). These items include the duplexing method, spectral frequency plan, power spectral density (PSD) mask, operation and maintenance (OAM) and electrical characteristics of the service splitter. The transport medium for VDSL signals is a single twisted pair th
8、at may simultaneously support Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS), voice-band data service and Basic Rate Integrated Service Digital Network (BR ISDN) service. 9、eword may contain material that has not been subjected to public review or a consensus process. In addition, it does not contain requirements necessary for conformance to the standard. This specification of the Very-high-bit-rate Digital Subscriber Line (VDSL) Metallic Interface based on QAM was dev
10、eloped by Committee T1 Telecommunications. The VDSL Metallic Interface specification defines the VDSL functional requirements and the transmitter specification based on Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM). These items include the duplexing method, spectral frequency plan, power spectral density (P
11、SD) mask, operation and maintenance (OAM) and transceiver specification. Specification of these items for VDSL technique is considered vital to the spectral compatibility with other services - i.e., Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL), Symmetric Digital Subscriber Line (SDSL), etc. - that migh
12、t be sharing the distribution cable. The transport medium for VDSL signals is a single twisted pair that may simultaneously support Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS), voice-band data service and Basic Rate Integrated Service Digital Network (BR ISDN) service. The specification provides the minimal
13、requirements for satisfactory transmission between network and customer installation equipment when both utilize QAM technology. Equipment may be implemented with additional functions and procedures. VDSL Metallic Interface has 2 normative annexes, which are considered part of this document, and 7 i
14、nformative annexes, which are provided for information only. Footnotes are not officially part of this TRQ. Future control of this document will reside with the Network Interface, Power, and Protection Committee (NIPP), formerly Technical Subcommittee T1E1. This control of additions to the specifica
15、tion, such as protocol evolution, new applications, and operational requirements, will permit compatibility among U.S. networks. Such additions will be incorporated in an orderly manner with due consideration to the ITU-T layered model principles, conventions, and functional boundaries. Suggestions
