A number in parentheses

Scope1.1 This specification covers vinyl-coated glass yarns.These yarns are manufac
3、tured in two basic classes. Theseclasses have been established that when properly woven intoscreening, satisfactory strength, durability, and insect protec-tion are obtained. The two classes are as follows:1.1.1 Class 1Nominal thickness 0.292 mm (0.0115 in.).1.1.2 Class 2Nominal thickness 0.330 mm (
4、0.0130 in.).1.2 The values stated in either SI or inch-pound units are tobe regarded separately as standard. The values stated in eachsystem may not be exact equivalents; therefore, each systemshall be used independently of the other. Combining valuesfrom the two systems may result in nonconformance
5、 with thisspecification.1.3 The following precautionary statement pertains only tothe test method portions, Sections 1221, of this specification.This standard does not purport to address all of the safetyconcerns, if any, associated with its use. Sampling and Number of Specimens4.1 Lot SampleAs a lot sample for acceptance testing,take at random the number of yarn packages directed in anapplicable material specification or other agreement betweenthe purchaser and the supplier. Consider yarn packages to bethe primary samplin
11、g unit. In the absence of such agreement,proceed as follows:4.1.1 Yarn Number, Ignition Loss, and Breaking ForceTake the number of yarn packages specified in ANSI/ASQZZ1.9 using the count of yarn packages in the lot as a measureof the lot size.1This specification is under the jurisdiction of ASTM Co

16、ringUse theyarn packages taken as a lot sample for strength, and yarnnumber as the lot sample for color stability to acceleratedweathering.NOTE 1An adequate specification or other agreement between thepurchaser and the supplier requires taking into account the variabilitybetween shipping cartons, ya
17、rn packages, yarn within a shipping carton,and test specimens from a yarn package to produce a sampling plan withmeaningful producers risk, consumers risk, acceptable quality level, andlimiting quality level.4.2 Laboratory SampleAs a laboratory sample for accep-tance testing, proceed as follows:4.2.
18、1 Yarn Number, Ignition Loss, Breaking Force, Color,and WorkmanshipUse the lot sampling units as laboratorysampling units.4.2.2 Color Stability to Accelerated Weathering and Low-Temperature FlexibilityUse every fifth yarn package in thelot sample for breaking force, and yarn number as the labora-tor
19、y sampling units. For small lots, take at least one yarnpackage as a laboratory sampling unit.4.3 Test SpecimensProceed as follows:4.3.1 Yarn Number, Ignition Loss, and Breaking ForceTake the number of specimens per laboratory sampling unitspecified in the applicable test method. Evaluate the result
20、s oftesting using ANSI/ASQ Z1.9, Inspection Level IV, normalinspection, and an acceptable quality level of 1.5 %.4.3.2 Color and WorkmanshipUse the yarn packages inthe lot sample as the specimens. Evaluate the results ofinspecting the specimens using ANSI/ASQZ Z1.4, InspectionLevel II, normal inspec
21、tion, and an acceptable quality level of1.5 %.4.3.3 Color Stability to Accelerated WeatheringTake thenumber of specimens per laboratory sampling unit specified inthe test methods.REQUIREMENTS5. Material5.1 Input YarnThe yarn shall be glass continuous filamentglass yarn which meets the requirements o
22、f SpecificationD 578 for the applicable yarn construction.5.2 Plastic CoatingThe material used to coat or impreg-nate the glass continuous filament yarn shall be a compound ofpolymerized or copolymerized vinyl chloride resin, plasticizedwith phosphate or phthalate ester plasticizers exclusively,pigm
23、ented and stabilized to meet the requirements herein.5.2.1 Optional PlasticizerThe use of plasticizers otherthan phosphates and phtalates shall be agreed upon betweenpurchaser and supplier.6. Put-Up6.1 The vinyl-coated glass yarn shall be put up on packagesor tubes, and in containers whose dimension
24、s shall be agreedupon between the purchaser and the supplier.7. Yarn Number, Ignition Loss, and Breaking Force7.1 The requirements of yarn number, ignition loss, andbreaking force are specified in Table 1.8. Color8.1 Samples shall be a commercial match to color standardsagreed upon between the purch
