Terminology3.1 Definitions:3.1.1 For definitions of textile terms used in these toler-ances: woolen-spun and woolen system, refer to TerminologyD 4849.3.1.2 For definitions of terms used in this standard: toler-ances and wool, refer to Terminology D 123.3.1.3

Sampling4.1 Take samples as directed in the applicable materialspecification, or as agreed upon by the purchaser and thesupplier. In the absence of an applicable specification or otheragreem

8、ent, proceed as directed in Practice D 2258.5. Tolerances5.1 StrengthThe average breaking force of each lot shallbe equal to or greater than the specified minimum average.5.2 Yarn NumberThe average yarn number shall be withinthe following tolerances:Deviation fromthe SpecifiedYarn Number, %500 tex o

10、rage twist of the package containing thehighest average twist shall not be higher than that of thepackage containing the lowest average twist by more than15.0 % of the lower average.5.4 Extractable MatterThe average percent extractablematter shall not exceed the following values:%Dry-spun 2.0Oil-spu

11、n, semi-scoured 15.0Oil-spun scoured:Blends, 50 % wool or less 4.0All wool or more than 50 % wool 10.05.5 Commercial MassIn the absence of other contractualagreements, the invoice mass, that is the commercial mass asadopted in a specific branch of the textile trade and asdetermined by the supplier,

12、shall not exceed the commercialmass as determined by the purchaser, by more than 1 %. 16、or specified.6.3 TwistDetermine the twist by Test Method D 1423,or,by agreement (for single yarns only), Test Method D 1422.6.4 Extractable MatterDetermine the percent of extract-able matter by Test Method D 2257 soxhlet extraction.6.5 MassDetermine the net mass and, if required, thecommercial mass

17、of the shipment by Test Method D 2494.7. Conformance7.1 The purchaser and the supplier may agree on a proce-dure to establish conformance, including control charts fur-nished by the supplier, a sequential-sampling plan, or thedouble-sampling plan outlined in 7.2.7.2 In the absence of a control-chart

18、 or sequential-samplingplan, proceed as directed in 7.2.1-7.2.3.7.2.1 If the test results for the lot conform to the tolerancesfor all characteristics specified in Section 5, consider the lot avalid delivery.7.2.2 If the test results for one or more characteristics do notconform to the tolerances, t

19、ake a new laboratory sample fromeither the original lot sample or a new lot sample. Retest the lotfor the characteristic(s) that did not conform to the tolerancesin the first test, and average the results of the first and secondsamples as if all results were from one test of double theoriginal numbe

20、r of specimens. If the new average(s) con-form(s) to the specified tolerances, consider the lot a validdelivery.7.2.3 If the test results obtained as directed in 7.2.2 do notconform to the specified tolerances, consider the lot a nonvaliddelivery.8.
