18、 (hereinafter referred to as NEMA WD 9). It does not replace another publication. The effective date is the publication date. The purpose of NEMA WD 9 is to provide necessary guidance for manufacturers and importers of dimmers, photoelectric controls, presence sensors, and multi-outlet bars to meet
19、in a uniform manner the energy consumption reporting requirements of the Mexican “Law for Sustainable Energy Use,” published in the Official Gazette of the Federation on November 28, 2008, Article 23. The content of NEMA WD 9 is, therefore, based on: a) Official Gazette of the Federation, September
20、10, 2010: “Catalog of equipment and appliances for which manufacturers, importers, distributors, and sellers shall include information about their energy consumption.” b) Official Gazette of the Federation, March 14, 2011: “Formats and requirements for the information that shall be submitted by manu
21、facturers and importers of equipment and appliances that use energy for their operation.” Although the Mexican law was the catalyst for developing NEMA WD 9, equipment energy consumption and efficiency are becoming increasingly important topics for consumers and equipment manufacturers worldwide. Id
22、eally, the content of NEMA WD 9 will contribute to an international or regional standard for the energy consumption testing and labeling of dimmers, photoelectric controls, presence sensors, and multi-outlet bars. Consequently, the structure and drafting of NEMA WD 9 follows the rules established by
