Scope - The equipment covered by this specification shall provide rack mounting and interconnecting cabling for selected units of the AN/UPQ-5 Mission Recorder Display Set and for

2、 items of Peculiar Ground Support Equipment associated with the AX/UPQ-5 system. Additionally,the equipment shall provide non-operating storage fa- cilities for other items of PGSE associated with the AN/UPQ-5 and for selected spare Shop Replaceable Assemblies from the AN/UPQ-5. 1.2 Classification -

REQUIMHXNTS 3.1 Preproduction - This specification makes provisions for preproduction testing. 3.2 Parts and Materials - In the selection of parts and materials, fulfillment of major design obj

22、ectives shall be the prime consideration. In so doing,the following shall govern: (1) and microelectronic items shall conform to re- quirements specified herein. ihen used,micro- electronic devices shall have two or more surces, and the device from each source shall be inter- changeable. Interchange

23、ability shall be demon- strated by random installation of devices from two or more sources during fabrication of pro- duction quantities. Successful operation of the equipment with a random mixing of device sources shall be proof of interchangeabilty. operation of the equipment shall be evaluated to

28、manship of the equipment shall be, wherever feasible, con- sistent with the design, construction, and workmanship requirements for the AN/UPQ-5 Mission Recorder Display Set as escribed in MIL-D- 81688. and workmanship requirements of tiIL-E-16400 shall be used as a guide except as otherwise specifie

29、d herein. Where MIL-D-81688 is not applicable, the design, construction, 3.3.1 Total Weight - The total weight of the equipment, including cables, shall be a minimum consistent with good design and shall not exceed 650 pounds. 3.3.2 Reliability - When specified in the contract or order, the contract

30、or shall conduct a reliability program using MIL-STD-785 as a guide. On a reorder from a supplier who has previ- ously produced the equipment, the program previously used may be continued unless otherwise indicated in the contract or order, 3.3.2.1 Operational Stability - The equipment shall operate

31、 with satisfactory performance, continuously or intermittently,for a period of at least 200 hours without the necessity for readjustment of any controls which are inaccessible to the operator during normal use, 303.2.2 Operating Life - The equipment shall have a total operating life of 10,000 hours

32、with reasonable servicing and replacement of parts, by the contractor. Parrs requiring scheduled replacement shall be specified 3.3.2.3 Reliability in Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) - When the contract or order requires areliability program under pro- visions of section 3.3.2 herein, the mean (ope

33、rating) time between failures (NTBF) in hours and the test requirements shall also be specified in the contract or order. 3,3.2,4 Time Totalizing Meter - Time totalizing meters are not required. 3a3.3 Cabling and Connectors - Cabling and connectors shall meet the following requirements: - 8- Provide

35、3.2 Interconnecting Cabling - The equipment shall be capable of satisfactory operation using external power cabling in ac- cordance with the applicable requirements of MIL-C-915. The external power cabling shall be unshielded, except that a minimum number of individual wires may be shielded when dem

36、onstrated as necessary to meet interference control requirements and provided the assembly of the cable to its plugs may be easily accomplished. The external power cable and that portion of the connector attached to the cable shall be supplied as part of the equipment. 3.3.4 control panels shall con

37、form to the applicable requirements of MIL-E-16400. by the procuring activity prior to the Preproduction testing. Control Panels - All rack and console mounted The configuration of all control panels must be approved 3.3.5 Interchangeability - The equipment shall meet the interchangeability requirem

38、ents of MIL-E-16400. 3.3.6 Electromagnetic Interference Control - The requirements of MIL-E-16400 shall be used as a guide in the design of the equipment for the control of electromagnetic interference. As a minimum, the following requirements shall apply, 3.3.6.1 Enclosure - The equipment cabinet (

39、enclosure) shall be in accordance with the requirements of section 3,5.1.2 herein. 3.3.6.2 EM1 Gasketing - F3fI gasketing shall be provided as specified in section 3.5.1.3 herein. 3.3.6.3 Power Line Filters - EM1 filters shall be provided on the power input line to the equipment. These filters shall

40、 provide a minimum insertion loss, at their rated load, of 30 dB at 15 KHz, increasing to a minimum of 80 dB for frequencies between 60 KHz and 1 GHz. 3.3.7 Provisions or Maintainability - Construction and packaging shall be as outlined in paragraphs 3.1.2, 3.1.4 and 3.1.5 of Specification AR-10. -9

42、irements and is satisfactory for its intended use. 3.3,7.2 Weight of Replaceable Assemblies - The weights of individual assemblies shall not exceed the weights specified in section 3.5. 3*3*7*3 Accessibility - To provide equipment accessibility, unit mounting shall be in accordance with the followin

43、g: (1) Power Panel (Al) - The PGSE Storage and Power Panel Assembly shall be a standard 19-inch rack mounted assembly secured by front panel fasteners, Weight bearing supports shall be provided in the equipment rack as necessary. (2) Recorder Mount (A2) - The lission Recorder Mount shall be a slide-

44、mounted standard 19-inch rack mounted unit secured by front panel fasteners. (3) Blower (A31 - The Electronic Equipment Air Cooler shall be a standard 19-inch rack mounted unit secured by front panel fasteners. rear-attaching mounting hardware is permissible.
