Amendments This standard differs from DIN 6796:1987-10 as follows

5、: a) normative references have been updated; b) subject to agreement, conical spring washers may now also be made of stainless steel (see Clause 4). Previous editions DIN 6796: 1971-06, 1977-07, 1987-10 3 DIN 6796:2009-08 1 Scope This standard applies to conical spring washers intended for use with

6、bolted connections involving bolts of property classes 8.8 to 10.9 as specified in DIN EN ISO 898-1. The efficacy of such spring washers is greatly reduced if they are used together with fasteners of property classes less than 8.8, due to indentation. By maintaining a sufficiently high preloading in

7、 a bolted connection, conical spring washers are designed to prevent loosening of the assembly, which may be caused, for instance, by the effect of setting. The specification of residual spring forces given in DIN 267-26 has made it possible for the first time to assess the performance of spring was

8、hers. They do not effectively prevent loosening of the assembly under varying radial load and are thus only designed for use with short bolts predominantly subject to axial thrust. 2 Normative references The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this document.
