Scope1.1 This practice covers procedures for testing installednon-perforated, gasketed corrugated high-density polyethylene(HDPE) pipelines using either water infiltration or exfiltrationacceptance limits to demonstrate the integrity via the level ofleakage
4、of the installed materials, construction procedures andinstallation qualityvia the level of leakage. Pipe to be testedunder this practice shall include corrugated HDPE drainagepipe meeting the requirements of AASHTO M 252, AASHTOM 294 and Specification F2306/F2306M.NOTE 1The performance criteria spe
5、cified in this standard may beused for other plastic pipe products. The engineer, however, must assess ifthe testing procedures are adequate for the particular material andinstallation being considered.NOTE 2The user of this practice is advised that test criteria presentedin this practice are simila
6、r to those in general use. Pipe, 600-mm (24-in.)diameter or larger, may be accepted by visual inspection when testing forinfiltration.1.2 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as thestandard. The values in parentheses are mathematical conver-sions to inch-pounds, which are provided for in
7、formationalpurposes only and are not considered standard.1.3 This test method shall be performed on lines after allconnections and service laterals have been plugged and bracedadequately to withstand the test pressures. The time betweencompletion of the backfill operations and testing shall bespecif
8、ied by the approving authority.1.4 This standard does not purport to address all of thesafety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is theresponsibility of the user of this standard to establish appro-priate safety and health practices and determine the applica-bility of regulatory limitatio
9、ns prior to use. The testingrequired under this standard necessitates operating in confinedspaces. The user must insure that all OSHA and local safetycodes are duly observed.2. 12、of Practice4.1 Determine the groundwater conditions surrounding thesection of pipeline to be tested and select the type of test to beconducted.4.2 For the infiltration test, the amount of water leaking intothe pipeline is measured, and the rate of infiltration is deter-mined. If the rate is less tha
13、n or equal to the allowable limit, thesection of pipe tested is acceptable.4.3 For the exfiltration test, the pipeline is filled with waterto the specified test head and the rate of water loss isdetermined. If the rate is less than or equal to the allowablelimit, the section of pipe tested is accept
