Scope1.1 These test methods cover the ability of window assem-blies of various types to restrain, delay, or
3、frustrate forcedentry.1.2 For purposes of these test methods, window assembliesare defined as described in 1.2.1-1.2.5 and as shown in Fig. 1.Window assemblies with a combination of operable sash andfixed panes (lites) shall be classified and tested separately foreach type.1.2.1 Type AA window assem
4、bly which incorporates oneor more sash that open by sliding, either vertically or horizon-tally within the plane of the wall.1.2.2 Type BA window assembly which incorporates oneor more sash that are hinged at or near two corners of the sashand that open toward the exterior (outswinging) or toward th
5、einterior (inswinging).1.2.3 Type CA window assembly which incorporates oneor more sash that are pivoted so that part of the sash openstoward the interior and part of it opens toward the exterior.1.2.4 Type DA window assembly which incorporates oneor more fixed panes (lites) or stationary sash that
6、are designednot to open.1.2.5 Type EA window assembly which incorporates aseries of overlapping horizontal louvers that are pivotedsimultaneously by a common actuator so that the bottom edgeof each louver swings outward and the top edge swings inwardduring operation.NOTE 1See Fig. 1 for graphic depi

Significance and Use5.1 These test methods are intended t
17、o establish a measureof resistance for window assemblies subjected to attacks (otherthan impacting glazing materials) by unskilled or opportunisticburglars. Resistance to higher levels of force generated byskilled burglary attack requires methods such as alarms,communication, or apprehension systems
18、, or special securityglazing materials more sophisticated than those evaluated bythese test methods.5.2 Entry through a window assembly can be accomplishedby impacting the glazing materials. This method does notevaluate glazing materials for breakage. Other standards mustbe used to evaluate forced e
19、ntry by impacting the glazing.5.3 Acceptance criteria for performance levels are a matterfor authorities having specific jurisdiction to establish. Sug-gested guidelines are found in Annex A1.6. Test Criteria6.1 Window Test SpecimenThe same window assemblyshall be used for all testing and shall cont
20、ain sash or louvershaving the greatest height and width for which approval issought. Each unique sash/frame or louver/frame arrangementshall be tested.6.1.1 The construction of the window test specimen, includ-ing all hardware, components, and arrangement of sash orlouvers shall be representative of
21、 that for which acceptance isdesired.6.1.2 The window test specimen shall consist of the entireassembled unit, including frame, glazing, and anchorage assupplied by the manufacturer for installation in the building.6.1.3 Unless otherwise specified, the window test specimenshall contain annealed glas
22、s for testing and shall be singleglazed if designed for either single or double glazing, or doubleglazed if designed exclusively for multiple glazing. Productstested with glazing materials other than annealed glass shall beused to qualify only the specific glazing material tested.6.1.4 Windows teste
23、d with more than one locking deviceshall not qualify windows with fewer locking devices, regard-less of size.6.2 Performance CriteriaThe performance level is at-tained if all locking devices remain engaged and entry cannotbe gained during the test or upon removal of loads. If anycomponent during tes
24、ting, allowing entry, this shall be consid-ered as failure to attain the performance level.
