3、organic fiber-based felt foruse as underlayment with steep-slope roofing products. Theintent of this specification is to provide criteria for producingand evaluating underlayments with a significantly reducedtendency to wrinkle before or after the installation of steeproofing products.1.2 The values

Materials and Manufacture5.1 In the process of manufacture, a single thickness ofinorganic mat or organic felt that is reinforced with inorganicfibers shall be uni

9、formly saturated or coated.6. Performance Requirements6.1 The material shall conform to the physical requirementsprescribed in Table 1.6.2 The finished product shall not crack nor be so sticky asto cause tearing or other damage upon being unrolled attemperatures between 1 and 60C (30 and 140F). Thef

10、inished product shall pass the water shower exposure test inaccordance with 8.1.4, indicating resistance to liquid watertransmission.7. Dimensions, Masses, Workmanship, Finish, andAppearance7.1 Dimensions and masses to be agreed upon betweenbuyer and seller.7.2 The finished material shall be free of

11、 visible externaldefects, such as holes, ragged or untrue edges, breaks, cracks,tears, bulges, and indentations.8. Rejection and Resubmittal10.1 Failure to conform to any of the requirements pre-scribed in this specification shall constitute grounds for r

18、ejec-tion. In case of rejection, the seller shall have the right tore-inspect the rejected material and resubmit the lot afterremoval of those packages not conforming to the requirements.11. Packaging and Package Marking11.1 Unless otherwise agreed upon between the supplier andpurchaser, each produc

19、t package shall be plainly marked withthe suppliers name, the product brand, and the ASTM desig-nation.11.2 The rolls shall be securely wrapped or banded in amanner that completely encircles the roll and will preventslipping or unrolling.11.3 No roll shall contain more than two pieces, and nomore th

20、an 3 % of the rolls in any lot shall contain two pieces.If a roll contains a manufacturing splice, the splice shall beclearly marked.12.
