Scope1.1 This guide summarizes the application of ASTM stan-dard test methods (and other supporting standards) tocontinuous-fiber reinforced polymer matri
3、x composite materi-als. The most commonly used or most applicable ASTMstandards are included, emphasizing use of standards of Com-mittee D30 on Composite Materials.1.2 This guide does not cover all possible standards thatcould apply to polymer matrix composites and restricts discus-sion to the docum
4、ented scope. Commonly used but non-standard industry extensions of test method scopes, such asapplication of static test methods to fatigue testing, are notdiscussed. A more complete summary of general compositetesting standards, including non-ASTM test methods, is in-cluded in the Composite Materia
5、ls Handbook (MIL-HDBK-17).2Additional specific recommendations for testing textile(fabric, braided) composites are contained in Guide D 6856.1.3 This guide does not specify a system of measurement;the systems specified within each of the referenced standardsshall apply as appropriate. Note that the
