Scope1.1 This specification prescribes the recommended standardmetric sizes of solid round electrical conductors.1.2 This specification prescrib
3、es the recommended standardmetric size designations of stranded electrical conductors (seeExplanatory Note 1).NOTE 1Physical properties, construction requirements, and manufac-turing tolerances for specific products should be included in individualproduct specifications developed in accordance with
4、appropriate sizes inthis specification.1.3 The values stated in inch-pound or SI units are to beregarded separately as standard. Each system shall be usedindependently of the other. Combining values from the twosystems may result in nonconformance with the specification.For conductor sizes designate

20、e 2 are rounded preferred numbers from R(Renard) series in accordance with ISO R388.NOTE 2The use of preferred numbers has many advantages and thevalues selected do not vary significantly from the calculated numbers ofthe series used. The preferred and second preference size designations,using a Ren
21、ard series of numbers, provides a schedule of interrelated sizesfor aluminum and copper conductors.B 6822NOTE 3Should sizes be needed either larger or smaller than thoselisted in Table 1 or Table 2, the respective R series may be expandedupward or downward.5. Standard Rules for Rounding5.1 All calcu
