Terminology3.1 Definitions:3.1.1 extruded bara solid extrusion, long in relation to itscross-sectional dimensions, having a symmetrical cross sectionthat is square or rectangu
9、lar with sharp or rounded corners oredges, or is a regular hexagon or octagon, and whose width orgreatest distance between parallel faces is over 0.375 in. 10mm.3.1.2 extruded profilea hollow or solid extrusion, long inrelation to its cross-sectional dimensions, whose cross sectionis other than that
10、 of wire, rod, bar, or tube.3.1.3 extruded roda solid round extrusion, long in relationto its diameter, whose diameter is over 0.375 in. 10 mm.3.1.4 extruded tubea hollow extrusion, long in relation toits cross-sectional dimensions, which is symmetrical and isround, square, rectangular, hexagonal, o
11、ctagonal, or ellipticalwith sharp or rounded corners, and has a uniform wallthickness except as affected by corner radii.3.1.5 producerthe primary manufacturer of a material.3.1.6 supplierincludes only the category of jobbers anddistributors as distinct from producer.3.1.7 wirea solid section long i

Quality Assurance5.1 Responsibility for InspectionUnless otherwise speci-fied in the contract or purchase order, the
21、producer or supplieris responsible for the performance of all inspection and testrequirements specified herein. Except as otherwise specified inthe contract or order, the producer or supplier may use his ownor any other suitable facilities for the performance of theinspection and test requirements s
22、pecified herein, unless dis-approved by the purchaser at the time the order is placed. Thepurchaser shall have the right to perform any of the inspectionsand tests set forth in this specification where such inspectionsare deemed necessary to assure that material conforms toprescribed requirements.6.
23、 Chemical Composition6.1 LimitsThe bars, rods, profiles, tubes, or wire shallconform to the chemical requirements in Table 1.6.2 Number of SamplesThe number of samples taken fordetermination of chemical composition shall be as follows:6.2.1 When samples are taken at the time extrusion ingotsare cast
24、 for determination of conformance to Table 1, onesample shall be taken for each group of ingots of the samealloy, poured at the same time, from the same source of moltenmetal when a batch process is employed. In cases where acontinuous casting process is employed, one sample shall betaken for each q
