25、bromocyclodo-decane (HBCD) have been utilized for decades to de-crease flammability of numerous plastics and tex-tiles. They are widely used as additives with a propor-tion by weight of 5 % to 30 % in vehicle and aircraftconstruction, in electric appliances, consumer goods,building products, foam ma

26、terials, packing materialsand furniture parts. Also decor materials (maindrapes and curtains in theatres, cinemas and in ships),leisure gear (tents, planes), household textiles (car-peted floors, bed linen and curtains) and (protective)clothing are finished with flame-retardants 1.Hexabromobenzene (

29、ible single compounds (Figure 1). The PBDE are industrially produced by brominationof diphenyl ether under varied conditions resulting intechnical mixtures of bromine homologs with differ-ent isomers or respectively congeners that also occurin the commercial products or respectively in thebuilding p

30、roducts and commodities which are fin-ished with flame- retardants. Products based on deca-(DeBDE) and on octabromodiphenyl ether (OcBDE),as well as on pentabromodiphenyl ether (PeBDE) arepredominantly found in trade. Table 1 provides anoverview of the percentage distribution of the indi-vidual brom

31、inated grades in the technical mixtures.The following market distribution of the PBDE wasprevalent in 2001: worldwide 67400 t/a or respec-tively 8300 t/a in Europe, of which DeDBE 56000 t/aor respectively 7600 t/a; OcBDE 7500 t/a or respec-tively 150 t/a ; PeBDE 3800 t/a or respectively 600 t/a.PBDE

Konge-neren resultieren, die auch in den Handelsproduktenbzw. den flammhemmend ausgersteten Bauproduk-ten und Bedarfsgegenstnden auftreten. Im Handelsind vorwiegend die auf Deca- (DeBDE), aber auchauf Octa- (OcBDE) und auf Penta

34、bromdiphenylether(PeBDE) basierenden Produkte. 39、erbot fr denEinsatz und das Inverkehrbringen von Penta- und Oc-tabromdiphenylether (Richtlinie 2003/11/EG), undseit Juli 2008 ist die Ausnahme fr Decabromdiphe-nylether vom EU-Verbot von gefhrlichen Stoffen inelektrischen und elektronischen Gerten vom Euro-pischen Gerichtshof aufgehoben 5. Eine Viel

40、zahlvon Studien belegt, dass diese persistenten, bioakku-mulierenden Verbindungen inzwischen ubiquitr ver-teilt sind 6 bis 9. Auenluftkonzentrationen von biszu 50 pg/m3 (Monatsmittelwerte) wurden in Deutsch-land und sterreich festgestellt 10 bis 12. Weiterhinwurden in Europa mehrere Untersuchungen v

41、onPBDE in der Innenraumluft und im Hausstaub durch-gefhrt 13 bis 17. Auch in Lebensmitteln 18 undin Humanmilch 19; 20 wurden PBDE weltweitnachgewiesen. Die akute Toxizitt der PBDE im Tierversuch ist miteiner LD50 von 5 g/kg KG zwar sehr gering, jedochist eine chronische Toxizitt in Form von neurotox

42、i-schen und endokrinen Wirkungen im Tierversuch be-legt 21 bis 23. Bei Ratten tritt bereits bei relativ ge-ringer einmaliger pr- und perinataler Exposition ge-genber 2,2,4,4,5-PeBDE (BDE 99) eine Strungdes Hormonhaushalts auf 24. Beim Verbrennen von mit PBDE ausgersteten Ma-terialien bilden sich pol

43、ybromierte Dibenzofuraneund Dibenzodioxine 25; 26.HBCDHexabromcyclododecan (siehe Bild 2) ist ein Ge-misch aus drei Stereoisomeren des 1,2,5,6,9,10-He-xabromcyclododecan 27.HBCD wird hufig zur Verminderung der Entflamm-barkeit von Polystyrolprodukten insbesondere inPolystyrolschumen (Dmmstoff, Verpa

44、ckungsmate-rial) mit 0,5 % bis 3 % Gewichtsprozent eingesetzt.Es liegt als homogene Dispersion in der Polymerma-trix vor (additives Flammschutzmittel) und hat eineReinheit von 99 %.Der Anteil von HBCD an bromierten Flammschutz-mitteln betrug im Jahr 2001 in Europa ca. 30 %. InAn EU-wide prohibition

47、mber of studies of PBDEin indoor air and house dust were performed in Eu-rope 13 to 17. PBDE were also found worldwide infood 18 and human milk 19; 20.The acute toxicity of PBDE in animal experimentwith a LD50 of 5 g/kg bodyweight is admittedly verylow; however, a chronic toxicity leading to neuroti

48、cand endocrine effects have been proven in the animalexperiment 21 to 23. A disturbance of the hormonalbalance occurs with rats already at a relatively minorone-time pre- and perinatal exposure to 2,2,4,4,5-PeBDE (BDE 99) 24.Polybrominated dibenzofurans and dibenzodioxinsare formed when burning mate

49、rials finished withPBDE 25; 26.HBCDHexabromocyclododecane (see Figure 2) is a mix-ture of three stereo isomers of the 1,2,5,6,9,10-hexa-bromocyclododecane 27.HBCD is often used to reduce flammability of poly-styrene products, especially in polystyrene foams (in-sulation material, package material) of 0,5 % to 3 %percent by weight.
