15、nominal wall thickness less than 10% of the nominal OD shall withstand, without cracking, flattening sideways under a load applied gradually at room temperature until the outside dimension under load is equal to three times the nominal wall thickness.3.3.2.1 If tubing does not pass the flattening te

16、st of 3.3.2, a section of tube not less than 1/2 inch (12.7 mm) in length and embracing one-third to one-half the circumference of the tube shall withstand, without cracking, bending at room temperature through an angle of 180 degrees around a diameter equal to the nominal wall thickness of the tubi

17、ng with axis of bend parallel to axis of tube and with inside of tube on inside of bend.3.4 QualityTubing, as received by purchaser, shall be uniform in quality and condition, sound, and free from foreign materials and from imperfections detrimental to usage of the tubing.3.5 TolerancesExcept as spe

QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS4.1 Responsibility for InspectionThe producer of tubing shall supply all samples for producers tests and shall be responsible for the performance of all required tests. Purchaser reserves the right to sample and to perform any confirmatory tes

22、ting deemed necessary to ensure that the tubing conforms to specified requirements.4.2 Classification of Tests4.2.1 Acceptance TestsComposition (3.1), tensile properties (3.3.1), and tolerances (3.5) are acceptance tests and, except for composition, shall be performed on each inspection lot.4.2.2 Pe

23、riodic TestsFlattening (3.3.2) is a periodic test and shall be performed at a frequency selected by the producer unless frequency of testing is specified by purchaser.4.3 Sampling and TestingShall be in accordance with AMS2355.4.4 ReportsThe producer of tubing shall furnish with each shipment a repo

24、rt stating that the product conforms to the chemical composition and tolerances, and showing the numerical results of tests on each inspection lot to determine conformance to the other acceptance test requirements. This report shall include the purchase order number, inspection lot number(s), AMS406

25、9F, size, and quantity. The report shall also identify the producer, the product form, and the size of the mill product.4.4.1 When the product size is outside the range covered by 1.1, the report shall contain a statement to that effect.4.5 Resampling and RetestingShall be in accordance with AMS2355

PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY5.1 IdentificationShall be in accordance with ASTM B666/B666M.5.2 Packaging5.2.1 Tubing shall be oiled, prior to shipment, with a light corrosion-inhibiting oil.5.2.2 Tubing shall be prepared for shipment in accordance with ASTM B660

27、and in compliance with applicable rules and regulations pertaining to the handling, packaging, and transportation of the tubing to ensure carrier acceptance and safe delivery.6. ACKNOWLEDGMENTA producer shall mention this specification number and its revision letter in all quotations and when acknow

28、ledging purchase orders.7. REJECTIONSTubing not conforming to this specification, or to modifications authorized by purchaser, will be subject to rejection.8.
