THIS DOCUMENT GIMS DETAILED INSTRUCTfONS FOR TRUCKLOADING FLEET ISSUE UNIT LOADS OF THE UNDERWATER MINE MK 55 AND MODS, CONFIGURATIONS B. C AND D, IN CRATE UNDERWATER MINE MK 55 MOD 1. THE MINE CRATE- S
5、HALL BE EQUIPPED WITH CRATE ADAPTERS MK 112 MOD O IN ACCORDANCE WITH WR-54/209. THE PROCEDURES AND PRACTICES HEREIN ARE INTENDED FOR&, 42,44 AND 45 FT. VAN WE TRAILERS WITH NAILABLE FLOORS. TRAILERS SHALL HAVE THEIR AXLES LOCATED IN THE WESTERN“ POSITION (AT THE EXTREME REAR OF THE TRAILER). DO NOT
6、USE TRAILER5 WITH ROLL UP DOORS. TRACTOR SHOULD HAVE SLIDING 5TH WHEEL. 3. THE LENGTH OF THE STRUTS (PIECE 8 OF DETAIL D, PIECE 11 OF DETAIL E AND PIECE 5 OF DETAIL J) SHALL BE SUFFJCIENT LENGTH TO CAUSE THE FILLER ASSEMBLY TO BEAR AGAINST THE MINE CRATE AND THE TRAILER WALL. ONE HALF INCH SLACK IS
7、PERMITTED. THE LENGTHS OF FILLER ASSEMBLIES, DETAILS E AND J MAY BE INCREASED TO 57 1/2 TO ACCOMMODATE TWO CRATES PROVIDED AN ADDITIONAL STRUT IS ADDED AT THE MID-POINT. TRAILERS SHORTER THAN 40 i. MAY BE USED. LOAD, BLOCK AND BRACE ACCORDING TO THE PRINCIPLES OF THIS STANDARD. VEHICLE CAPACITY, GRO
8、SS VEHICLE WEIGHT AND AXLE WEIGHT REQUIREMENTS SHALL BE OBSERVED. THE LENGTH OF THE STRUT, PIECE 5 OF DETAIL C (PAGE 5 ), SHALL BE SUFFICIENT LENGTH TO CAUSE THE BLOCKING ASSEMBLY TO FILL THE VOID BETWEEN THE LADING AND THE TRAILER DOORS WHEN THE DOORS ARE CLOSED. WHEN THE SPACE BETWEEN THE LADING A
9、ND THE REAR OF THE TRAILER IS GREATER THAN 36 INCHES, BLOCK THE REqR OF THE LOAD AS SHOWN ON PAGE B. THE MAXIMUM GROSS WEIGHT OF THE TRACTOR-TRAILER AND THE ALLOWABLE AXLE WEIGHTS ARE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF 2. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. THE CARRIER. THE CARRIER WILL ADVISE THE SHIPPER OF THESE LIMITATIONS AND TH
10、E SHIPPER SHALL LOAD THE TRAILER IN SUCH A MANNER THAT THE TRACTOR-TRAILER WILL NOT EXCEED THESE LIMITATIONS. AFTER BLOCKING AND BRACING HAS BEEN INSPECTED, ATTACH SHIPPING DOCUMENTS TO INSIDE OF TRAILER IN AN ACCESSIBLE AREA, CLOSE AND SEAL TRAILER DOORS AND ATTACH “EXPLOSIVES A“ PLACARD TO BOTH SI
11、DES, FRONT AND BACK OF THE TRAILER. UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED, ALL MATERIALS SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE GENERAL TRUCKLOADING DOCUMENT, 9. 10. MIL-STD-1320. FOR GENERAL TRUCKLOADING PROCEDURES REFER TO THE GENERAL TRUCKLOADING DOCUMENT, MIL-STD-1320. 11. FTL & LTL 40, 42, 44 & 45 FT TRAILERS (V
12、AN) pziKiFq THIS STANDARD PROVIDES FOR INCREASED LOADINGS WHICH PRODUCE HEAVIER GROSS TANDEM AXLE WEIGHTS. THESE INCREASED WEIGHTS ARE NOT AUTHORIZED IN ALL 50 STATES. 1. TABLES I, II AND III PROVIDE THE CORRECT LOAD PATTERN NUMBER TO BE USED WHEN SHIPPING THE UNDERWATER MINE MK 55 AND MODS. TO USE
13、THESE TABLES - A. DETERMINE THE DODIS/NALC NO. OF THE MINE. B. SELECT THE TABLE USING THIS NUMBER. TABLE P PROVIDES THE PRESCRIBED LOAD PATTERNS. AFTER DETERMINING THE CORRECT LOAD PATTERN NUMBER (SEE NOTE 1 2. ABOVE), FIND THE CORRECT LOAD PATTERN TO USE OPPOSITE THE LOAD PATTERN NUMBER. 3. 4. BLOC
14、K AND BRACE ALL LOAD PATTERNS SHOWN IN TABLEP USING THE PRINCIPLES SHOWN ON PAGES 6 AND 7. WHEN TRUCKLOAD HAS A PARTIAL SECOND LAYER, THE CRATED MINE(S) IN THE SECOND LAYER SHALL BE STRAPPED TO THE BOTTOM CRATED MINE(S) WHERE THE LOAD PATTERN CHANGES FROM TWO LAYERS HIGH TO ONE LAYER HIGH. TWO HIGH
15、CRATES AT THE REAR OF THE LOAD SHALL ALSO BE STRAPPED TOGETHER. SEE UNITIZING PROCEDURE, PAGE 9 FOR INSTRUCTIONS. WHEN THE CRATED MINES ARE TWO HIGH AT THE REAR OF THE LOAD, THE LAST TWO STACKS SHALL BE STRAPPED TOGETHER WITH TWO 1 1/4 X .O35 STEEL STRAPS. THESE STRAPS ENCIRCLE THE TWO STACKS PASSIN
16、G OVER THE TOP TWO CRATED MINES AND UNDER THE BOTTOM TWO. TENSION STRAPS AND SEAL WITH TWO DOUBLE CRIMPED SEAk. SEE PAGE 6. THESE MINES SHOULD BE STRAPPED TOGETHER IN PLACE. ATTACH TO EACH STRAP IN A CONSPICUOUS PLACE A SUITABLE TAG CARRYING THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS : “CUT AND REMOVE THIS STRAP BE
