10、l - Type I control panels shall be designed inaccordance with Standard )4S25212so chat inacallation can be made in accordancewith Standard MS25213. The complece control panel shall consist of a plasticlighting place, built-in red lighting, mounting place, the necessary ponents. and associated intern

11、al wiring, electrical receptacles, and s coverbox. The design shall be such chac several control panela can be mounted im-mediately adjacent to each other on a unilevel surface to preaenc a consoleappearance and percnfcstondardizacion of arrangement.3.2.2 Tvpe II control panel Type 11 concrol panels

12、 are designed to beinstalled in specific aircraft where apace”precludes installation of the type Icontrol panel or for use in equipment which cannot ecnplythe type I control panel.Type II control panels shall be similar to type I concrol panels, except for width.length, panel depth, eaae of removal,

13、 fastening provisiona, cover box, and adja-cent installation. 14、a careful arran6-ment of che individual controls. All controls not required during a flightmission shall be omitted from the front face of the control panel. Test pointsand controls required for general maintenance shall be separated from the in-flighc controls and made available on the control pane

15、l (but nOt On the frOncof che panel).3.3 Consccuction -3.3.1 Eaee of removal - Each control panel shall be so constructed asco be easily rindquickly removable from its mounting position.3.3.2 Interconnectingcabling Each control panel shall operate satis-factorily, ueing open wires for external inter

16、connecting wiring in accordancewith Specification MIL-W-5088. The use of shielded wire shall be held to theminimum necessary to comply with the applicable interference control require-ments.3.3.3 Lighting -3.3.6 Plastic place The plastic lighting place, plus the method offastening it to che a75ouncl

17、ng place, shall be in accordance with SpecificationMIL-P-7788. Where possible, all components shall be removable without removingthe plastic lighcicigplace.3.3.5 Light assemblv - The light assembly shall be in accordance withStandard HS2501O. Transparent red caps shall be used only with approval of

18、theprocuring activity. Where components behind the a75ounting plate precludeinstallation of the I4S2501Olight, the light assembly in accordance withStandard AN3502 may be employed.3.3.6 Panel lifthtin Panel 1ighting shall be integral with each panelin accordance with SpecifIcation MIL-P-7788. The po

19、wer to the illuminatinglampa shall be controlled by an external awicch with the brilliance controlon a separate lighting control panel. No lighting concrols shall be mountedon individual equipment control panels. The ON-OFF power -itch for the equip-ment controlled by the individual concrol panel sh

20、all not control the illumina-ting lamp circuit. One side of che light assemblies circuit shall be connectedto the power syacem through a single connection. The ocher side of the lightassemblies circuit shall be grounded co the mounting plate of the cOntrOl Paneland to a connection. The panel design

21、shall permit the use of either alternatingcurrent (AC) or direct current (DC) power for the lighting Circuit.3.3 Indicator lights - Indicacor lights shall not be included on thecontrol panel, except when specifically approved by the procuring accivity.The necessity for the use of any proposed indica

23、!:)3.4 Performance Control panels SMI11 uperatc under CIW f,)uwinxcmdicions.3.4.1 Environmental conditions - TIM?ZIPPIicable cnvironmcncal require-ments of Specification tsIL-E-5600for the C1OSS stated in the detail specifi-cation shall apply as requirements of this specification. Additions orexcept

24、ions to che general specification may be required by the detailspecification.3.4.2 Explosive decompression - control panels shall withstand exPlOsivedecompression as follows:(a) From 30,000 feet to 50,000 feet pressure altitude ac a rateof change of 300 pounds per square inch (PSI) per second.(b) Fr

25、om 8,000 feet to 35,000 feet pressure altitude in 0.5 second.3.5 Mounting place The mounting place shall be of aluminum alloy ofO.06f+-inchthickness. Where additional strength is required, 0.065-inch1stainless steel or greater thickness of aluminum alloy or stainless steelshall be used; the maximum

26、thickness shall be 0.095 inch. When the mountingplate is thicker than 0.064 inch and fasteners in accordance with Specifi-cation MIL-F-25173 are used, a75etal from the face of the a75ounting plate underthe faatener studs shsll be removed by any suitable process to such depththat the remaining thickn

27、ess is 0.064 inch. The plastic lighting plate, cheelectrical receptacle, the captive fastener scuds which serve co sccach thecontrol panel to the aircroft structure, and other various controls and com-ponents, aa required, shall be attached to the mounting plste or to bracketsor supporca attached co

28、 the mounting plate, as applicable. These controlsand components shall not be mounted to either the plastic lighting place orthe cover box. Cemponent fasteninga, excepc those extending all the waythrough the plastic place (such trscontrol shafts and awicches) shall notextend beyond the front surface

29、 of the mounting plate. Dimensions for type Ipanels shall be as specified on Standard liS25212. Designers of control panelsshall consider chat the strength of the mounting plate is related to theamount of material removed for the location of dials, parts, concrols, etc.In this respect, due considera

30、tion shall be given to the specified vibraciOnand shock requirements.3.6 Fastenera - Fastening provision for type I control panels shall beas specified by Standard MS25212. Fascenera shall be in accordance with Specifi-cacion MIL-F-25173. For control panels larger chsn 6 inches, additional studsshal

31、l be locaced ao that no more than 4-7/8 inches of panel exists between studcenters. On any one panel, the studs shall be spaced at approximately equalintervals in the length direction. Installation provisions will be in accord-ance with Standard f4S25213. Other type fasteners awy be used for type 11

33、trol panel shall be concisely indicated by lettersarrsnged vertically in the area between the mounting fasteners near the leftedge of the concrol panels. The letters shall be 5/32 fnch in height. Whereambiguity will not result, controls moy.be ganged or driven from a singlecontrol knob. Unless other

34、wise specified, ON-OFF power switches shall be.located near che right edge of the control panel. The arrangement shall besuch chac no part of any control will extend beyond che edge of the concrolpanel on which it is mounted in order noc to interfere with any on adjacentconcrol panels.3.7.1 Control

35、knobs - Control knobs shall conform to SpecificationMIL-K-25049, unless otherwise authorized. Shafts employed for rotary controlsshall conform co Stsndard MS25176. The li8hting for flluminaced control knobsshall be provided by che lampa used to light the plascic lighting Plate msrkin8s.3.7.2 Control

36、 index - Rotary controls shall be keyed to the mountingplate ao aa to be positively indexed with respect to plate markings.3.8 Electrical receptacles - Excepc as otherwise speciff.ed,one ormore electrical receptacles in accordance with Specification MIL-C-26482 shallbe mounted to the control panel,

37、preferably behind the center area Of the frontpanel and facing directly away from the front place. Where contacts not prO-vided in receptacles conforming to Specification F!IL-c-26f182are required. areceptacle in accordance with Specification FIIL-C-5o15 shall be employed. Thereceptacle shsll be loc

38、ated so aa to allow for the exit Of virin.8and dressin8of the wires as specified on Standard MS25212. All electrical connecciona tothe concrol panel shall be made through the receptacles. Where the concrolpanel would require a receptacle with aix or less pins, the receptacle may beomitted and the co

39、nnections made direccly co che components Or tO a ceinalboard. Connections shall be made only co screw terminals when a receptacleia noc employed. Where resultant overall depth of che control psnel wouldexceed 6-1/2 inches becauae of che inclusion of disconnect plugs and recep-tacles, a cable ahmll

40、be brought out at the central ares of the back of chepanel and shall be attached to s conneccor receptacle in accordance withSpecification MIL-C-26482. The overall length from the back of the front panelto che wire end of che cable clamp ehall be 26 inches. The pin contact (msle)portion of the conne

41、ccor shall be the part associated with the control psnel.If shielded wires are used in such cable. they shall be adequately insulatedfor 500V AC by individual or overall insulating sheeving.3.9 Cover box Each control panel shall include a cover box which shalladequately shield che equipment from exc

42、ernol interfering fields, shall ade-quately confine che internal fields, and shall provide required mechanicalprotection during storage, handling, and installation. The cover box fortYPe I control panels ahnll be concained within Che outside dimensions ofStandard 14S25212. Exceptions to this require

43、ment may be granted by the pro-curing activity for panels on which a cover box would serve no useful purpose;for example, a control pnnel on which only toggle switches requiring no ad-ditional electrical shielding are mounted. The cover box shall be as light in weight as practi-cable, and shall have a cutout so che nameplate will be easily visible withcover box in place on the control panel, except that n cutout is nor requiredwhen the nameplate is permitted to be Iocaced on the cover box (see 3.20)

46、.Nonmetallic cover boxes may be used when shielding the equipment is not arequirement.3.10 Fuses and circuit-protecting devices - No fuses nor CirCUit-protecting device shall be mounted on a control panel with ocher controls.These circuit-protecting devices shall be in the equipment controlled by th

47、econtrol panel, on a special panel for circuit-protecting devices, or SSotherwise specified in the detail specification for the individual equfpmenc.3.11 Toggle switches - Toggle switches shall be so mounted that che handleof the sutch operates from top to bottom of the control panel. Any OFFpositio

48、n shall be in the center or bottom position. Where clarification ofconcrol function or convenience of operation would result (for example, aleft-right funccion control), toggle switches may be mounted so that chehandle of the switch operates from aide co side. Switch guards shall beused in cases whe

49、re ic is necessary co prevent inadvertent operation of aswitch.3.12 Incerchangeabilicy - All parts having the same manufacturers partnumber shall be directly and completely interchangeable with each other withrespect to installacion and performsnce.a3.13 Interference - Interference control requiremenca shall be as specifiedin the detail specification.3.lfIDimensions - Each type I control psnel and component a75ounting spacedimensions sha
