Classification3.1 This specification provides for the identification of threetypes of allyl molding compounds, based on the general type offiller employed in their manufacture, which shall be
8、 distin-guished by the requirements prescribed in Table 1.Type IHigh-strength materials, glass-fiber reinforced.Type IIGeneral-purpose mineral filled.Type IIIGeneral-purpose synthetic fiber filler.3.2 Types I and II may be subdivided into four classesaccording to resin composition and use as follows
9、:Class ADiallyl ortho-phthalate resin, nonflame-retardant.Class BDiallyl ortho-phthalate resin, flame-retardant.Class CDiallyl meta-phthalate resin nonflame-retardant.Class DDiallyl meta-phthalate resin, flame-retardant.3.3 The four classes of Type I are subdivided as follows:ClassesA, B, C, and D i
10、nto four grades. For Type II each of thefour classes is subdivided into two grades. For Type III onlyClass A compounds are produced and are available in threegrades.4. General Requirements4.1 The molding compound shall be of uniform compositionand so compounded as to conform to the requirements of t
11、hisspecification.4.2 Although other than allyl resin may be added for flameresistance and other purposes, the major part of the resinportion shall be diallyl ortho-phthalate or diallyl meta-phthalate.4.3 The apparent density, bulk factor, particle size, physicalform, and color of the compounds shall
12、 be as agreed uponbetween the purchaser and supplier.5. Detail Requirements5.1 Average results obtained on test specimens, eachcompression-molded using the manufacturers recommendedtechniques, shall conform to the requirements listed in Table 2.6. Sampling6.1 Adequate statistical sampling shall be u

Specimen Preparation7.1 Test specimens shall be compression molded in accor-dance with Practice D5224.8. Conditioning8.1 Conditioning
17、Molded test specimens of allyl moldingcompounds shall be conditioned in accordance with ProcedureB of Practice D618, unless otherwise specified in the testmethods or in this specification.8.2 Tests shall be conducted in the standard laboratoryatmosphere of 23 6 2C and 50 6 5 % relative humidity,unle
18、ss otherwise specified in the test methods or in thisspecification.9. Test Methods39.1 The properties enumerated in this specification shall bedetermined in accordance with the following methods:9.2 Impact Resistance (Izod)Test Method D256, MethodA. Test specimens shall be 12.7 by 12.7 by 63.5 mm.9.
19、3 Flexural StrengthTest Methods D790 Procedure A.Test specimens shall be 6.4 by 12.7 by 127-mm bars testedparallel to molding pressure.9.4 Permittivity and Dissipation FactorTest MethodsD150. Measure the permittivity and dissipation factor at 1 kHzand 1 MHz after conditioning by Procedure B of Pract
20、iceD618. Determine permittivity and dissipation factor afterconditioning 48 h at 50C followed by Procedure D of PracticeD618. Use 102 by 3.2-mm disks for 1 kHz frequency and 51 by3.2-mm disks for 1 MHz frequency.9.5 Insulation ResistanceTest Methods D257, using a3.2-mm thick by 102-mm diameter disk
