1、Designation: B 400 04Standard Specification forCompact Round Concentric-Lay-Stranded Aluminum 1350Conductors1This standard is issued under the fixed designation B 400; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or, in the case of revision, the year of las
2、t revision. A number in parentheses indicates the year of last reapproval. Asuperscript epsilon (e) indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope1.1 This specification covers aluminum 1350-H19 (extrahard), 1350-H16 or -H26 (n hard), 1350-H14 or -H24 (12hard) and 1350-H
3、142 or -H242 (12 hard) bare compact-roundconcentric-lay-stranded conductors made from round or shapedwires for use as uninsulated electrical conductors or in coveredor insulated electrical conductors. These conductors shall becomposed of a central core surrounded by one or more roller ordie compacte
4、d layers of helically applied wires (ExplanatoryNote 1 and Note 2).1.2 The values stated in inch-pound or SI units are to beregarded separately as standard. Each system shall be usedindependently of the other. Combining values from the twosystems may result in non-conformance with the specification.
5、For conductor sizes designated by AWG or kcmil sizes, therequirements in SI units are numerically converted from thecorresponding requirements in inch-pound units. For conductorsizes designation by AWG or kcmil, the requirements in SIunits have been numerically converted from correspondingvalues sta
6、ted or derived in inch-pound units. For conductorsizes designated by SI units only, the requirements are stated orderived in SI units.1.2.1 For density, resistivity and temperature, the valuesstated in SI units are to be regarded as standard.NOTE 1Prior to 1975, aluminum 1350 was designated as EC al

Classification3.1 For the purpose of this specification, conductors areclassified as follows:3.1.1 Class AAFor bar
11、e conductors usually used in over-head lines.3.1.2 Class AFor conductors to be covered with weather-resistant materials, and for bare conductors where greaterflexibility than is afforded by Class AA is required. Conductorsindicated for further fabrication into tree wire or to be insulatedand laid he

Ordering Information4.1 Orders for material under this specification shall includethe following information:4.1.1 Quantity of each size and class (Table 1),4.1.2 Conductor size; circular-mil area or AWG (Section 7),4.1.3 Class (Section 3),
17、4.1.4 Temper (Section 13),4.1.5 Lay direction if nonstandard (see 6.3 and 6.4), re-versed or unidirectional (see 6.4) or special (see 6.5),4.1.6 Special tension test, if required (see 17.2),4.1.7 Place of inspection (Section 18), and4.1.8 Packaging and Package Marking (Section 19).5. Joints5.1 1350-
18、H19 Conductors for Use in Bare OverheadLines:5.1.1 Joints may be made in the six outer wires of seven-strand conductors by cold-pressure welding or by electric-butt,cold-upset welding, but not by electric-butt welding. Joints arenot permitted in the finished center wire of seven-strandedconductors.5
19、.1.2 Joints may be made in any of the wires in conductorsof 18 or more wires by electric-butt welding, cold-pressurewelding, or electric butt, cold-upset welding.5.1.3 The minimum distance between a wire joint andanother joint either in the same wire or in other wires of thecompleted conductor shall
