Therefore it is equally important to assure that those individuals whoinstall firestopping are qualified and certified in t
12、heir ability to understand, perform up to, andmeet the various consensus codes and standards that are applicable to the industry. This Standardhas been developed to address those needs. It offers uniform requirements that can be used andaccepted throughout the construction industry to protect everyo

19、and devicesfor piping systems.The qualifications under this Standard are restrictedto those that are required by this Standard, the modelbuilding and plumbing codes requirements for firestop-ping developed by NFPA, ICBO, SBCCI, BOCA, ICC,and IAPMO, and consensus standards for piping systempenetratio
20、ns of fire-resistance-rated walls, partitions,floors, floor/ceiling assemblies, roof/ceiling assemblies,or shaft enclosures.1.2 Limitations for Firestop System InstallerCompliance with this Standard in itself shall not qual-ify an individual as a certified firestop contractor inaccordance with FM 49
