4、English is to have students love poetry.Poetry is “a criticism of life”,“a heightening of life,enjoyment with others”.It is “an approach to the truth of feeling”,and it “can save your life”.It also deserves a place in the teaching of language and literature more central than it presently occupies.I

5、am not saying that every English teacher must teach poetry.Those who dont like it should not be forced to put that dislike on anyone else.But those who do teach poetry must keep in mind a few things about its essential nature,about its sound as well as its sense,and they must make room in the classr

20、ty.If the audience feels bad for the animals,they will be more likely to donate money.Logos is the use of truths,statistics,or other evidence to support your argument.An audience will be more likely to believe you if you have convincing data to back up your claims,for example,in an ad for washing po

21、wder.Presenting this evidence is much more persuasive than simply saying “Believe me”.Although ethos,pathos,and logos all have their strengths,they are often most effective when used together.Indeed,most speakers use a combination of ethos,pathos,and logos to persuade their audiences.So,the next tim
