8、itions:5.101 ACTUATION SYSTEMS:a) SINGLE An actuation system in which the trigger has to be actuated for each drivingoperation.b) CONTINUOUS An actuation system in which the driving operations are carried out for aslong as the trigger remains actuated. No safety yoke is present.c) CONTACT An actuati
9、on system in which both the trigger and the safety yoke have to beactuated for each driving operation, with the order of actuation not being specified. The drivingoperations occur if either the trigger remains activated and the safety yoke is activatedthereafter, or vice versa.d) CONTACT, CONTINUOUS
10、 An actuation system in which both the trigger and the safetyyoke have to be actuated, with the order of actuation not being specified, and in which thedriving operations continue to take place for as long as the trigger and the safety yoke remainactuated.e) SEQUENTIAL, SINGLE An actuation system in

13、initiated by the trigger, onlyafter the safety yoke has been applied to the workpiece. Thereafter, any further drivingoperations are initiated only after both the trigger and safety yoke have been returned to thestarting position.5.102 FASTENER A nail, staple, pin, brad, screw used as a nail, sleeve
14、 or other fastening device thatis designed and manufactured for use in the tools within the scope of this outline.5.103 LIGHT-DUTY TOOL A tool meeting all of the following:a) A tool not capable of driving fasteners with;1) Wire sized 18 ASWG (0.0475 inch diameter) or greater; or2) Nominal staple thi
15、ckness 0.038 inch (1.0 mm) or greater and with nominal staplewidth 0.050 inch (1.3 mm) or greater.b) A tool not capable of driving a fastener greater than 25.4 mm (1 in) long;c) A tool with a maximum rated air pressure not exceeding 100 psi.5.104 SAFETY YOKE An operating control element or assembly
16、on the tool, intended to be actuatedby contact with the material to be fastened.5.105 STAPLE THICKNESS Maximum dimensions of staple-leg cross section measured parallel tostaple-crown axis.5.106 STAPLE WIDTH Maximum dimensions of staple-leg cross section measured perpendicular tostaple-crown axis.5.1

19、ool capable of contact actuation shall be marked with: WARNINGRisk of Injury to Persons.Do not make contact with safety tip when not driving fasteners.Exception: The term safety tip may be replaced by another term. The term shall be defined in theinstruction manual.8.103 WARNINGRisk of Injury to Per
20、sons. Do not place finger on trigger when not driving fasteners.8.104 WARNINGRisk of Injury to Persons. Disconnect tool from air source before makingadjustments, loading or unloading, clearing jams or leaving work area.9 InstructionsThis Section of Part 1 is applicable except as follows:9.2.3 Under
21、Personal Safety, items (i), (j) and (k) are not applicable.Replace 9.2.3, Tool use and care, item (d), as follows:d) WARNING Disconnect the tool from the air source before making adjustments, doingtool maintenance, clearing jams, touching the safety yoke, leaving work area, loading, orunloading the
