15、t.c) CONTACT An actuation system in which both the trigger and the safety yoke have to beactuated for each driving operation, with the order of actuation not being specified. The drivingoperations occur if either the trigger remains activated and the safety yoke is activatedthereafter, or vice versa

16、.d) CONTACT, CONTINUOUS An actuation system in which both the trigger and the safetyyoke have to be actuated, with the order of actuation not being specified, and in which thedriving operations continue to take place for as long as the trigger and the safety yoke remainactuated.e) SEQUENTIAL, SINGLE

Thereafter, any further drivingoperations are initiated only after both the trigger and safety yoke have been returned to thestarting position.5.102 FASTENER A nail, staple, pin, brad, screw used as a nail, sleeve or other fastening devicethat is designed and manufactured for use in the

20、tools within the scope of this outline.5.103 LIGHT-DUTY TOOL A tool meeting all of the following:a) A tool not capable of driving fasteners sized No. 18 ASWG (0.0475 inch diameter) orgreater;b) A tool not capable of driving a fastener greater than 25.4 mm (1 in) long;c) A tool with a maximum rated a

21、ir pressure not exceeding 100 psi.5.104 SAFETY YOKE An operating control element or assembly on the tool, intended to be actuatedby contact with the material to be fastened.5.105 TRIGGER The control device of the tool used to supply energy to the driving mechanism.6 General RequirementsThis Section

This is able to cause the nail to bedeflected and hit someone, or cause the tool to react and result in a risk of injury to persons.k) WARNING Remove finger from th

33、Exception: Roofing nailers and roofing staplers shall be subjected to three drops each for a total of ninedrops on a concrete surface from a height of 4 m (13.1 ft).15 ConstructionThis Section of Part 1 is applicable except as follows:Replace 15.5 and 15.6 as follows:15.5 A tool shall be equipped wi

34、th a trigger.15.6 The trigger shall:a) Be positive On-Off type,b) Return to the stop position when released,c) Be constructed and located to reduce the risk of unintentional operation, andCompliance is checked by inspection and by the following test:The tool is to be placed in any position anticipat

35、ed in normal use. The tool is to be positionedon a horizontal surface. 36、all not occur.d) Be mechanically durable.Compliance is checked by inspection and by the following test:One trigger shall be subjected to 50,000 operations of opening and closing at a rate not lessthan 10 cycles per minute.Following the test the tool is to be operated at maximum rated air pressure. 37、he trigger shalloperate normally.Add paragraph:15.6.1 The trigger shall be constructed such that the part of the trigger that has the greatest travel shallnot be less than 6.4 mm (0.25 in) before tool actuation can occur.Exception: This requirement does not apply to a tool equipped with a trigger sy

38、stem that automaticallylocks in the off position when the trigger is released so that two motions are required to actuate the trigger.Replace 15.7 with the following:15.7 Neither a trigger nor a safety yoke shall be capable of being locked in the on position.Compliance is checked by inspection and b

42、 employ a safety yoke that reduces the risk of unintentional drivingoperations.Compliance is checked by applying 1.5 times the tool weight, but not less than 1.5 kg (3.3 lb). The safetyyoke shall not engage to initiate driving operations.15.105 A sharp edge or point of a fastener shall not protrude

43、and, as far as is compatible with the useand functioning of the tool, shall be arranged or enclosed to provide, in normal use, protection against arisk of injury to persons.Compliance is checked by inspection.15.106 With reference to 15.102, a tool having a safety yoke shall comply with 15.107 15.11

44、0.15.107 Upon removal of the tool from the workpiece, the safety yoke shall return to its starting position.Compliance is checked by inspection and a manual test.15.108 An air-operated safety yoke shall operate under abnormal conditions.Compliance is checked by connecting the tool to an air source s

45、et at 80 percent of the rated air pressureor at 80 percent of the minimum pressure of the rated air-pressure range. The safety yoke shall return toits starting position.15.109 A safety yoke shall be constructed to reduce the risk of unintentional actuation of the tool. A safetyyoke:a) Shall not exte

46、nd more than 18 mm (0.7 in) from the exit point of the fastener for contactactuation systems or for a tool capable of driving fasteners greater than 127 mm (5 in) long, orb) Shall not extend more than 30 mm (1.2 in) from the exit point of the fastener for all othertools.Compliance is checked by insp
