This Outline of Investigation contains basic requirements for products covered by UnderwritersLaboratories Inc. (UL) under its Follow-Up Service for this category within the limitations given below andin t
5、he Scope section of this Outline of Investigation. They are subject to revision as further experience andinvestigation may show is necessary or desirable.B. The observance of these requirements by a manufacturer is one of the conditions of the continuedcoverage of the manufacturers product.C. A prod
6、uct which complies with the text of this Outline of Investigation will not necessarily be judged tocomply with the Outline of Investigation if, when examined and tested, it is found to have other featureswhich impair the level of safety contemplated by these requirements.D. A product that contains f
7、eatures, characteristics, components, materials, or systems new or differentfrom those covered by the requirements in this Outline of Investigation, and that involves a risk of fire orof electric shock or injury to persons shall be evaluated using appropriate additional component andend-product requ
8、irements to maintain the level of safety as originally anticipated by the intent of thisOutline of Investigation. A product whose features, characteristics, components, materials, or systemsconflict with specific requirements or provisions of this Outline of Investigation does not comply with thisOu

Revision of requirements shall be proposed and adopted in conformance with themethods employed for development, revision, and implementation of this Outline of Investigation.E. UL, in performing its functions in accordance with its objectives, does not assume or undertake tod

The opinions and findings of ULrepresent its professional judgement given with due consideration to the necessary limitations of practicaloperation and state of the art at the time the Outline of Investigation is processed. 14、pt as follows:Add definitions:5.101 ACTUATION SYSTEMS:a) SINGLE An actuation system in which the trigger has to be actuated for each drivingoperation.b) CONTINUOUS An actuation system in which the driving operations are carried out for aslong as the trigger remains actuated. No safety yoke is presen
15、t.c) CONTACT An actuation system in which both the trigger and the safety yoke have to beactuated for each driving operation, with the order of actuation not being specified. The drivingoperations occur if either the trigger remains activated and the safety yoke is activatedthereafter, or vice versa
16、.d) CONTACT, CONTINUOUS An actuation system in which both the trigger and the safetyyoke have to be actuated, with the order of actuation not being specified, and in which thedriving operations continue to take place for as long as the trigger and the safety yoke remainactuated.e) SEQUENTIAL, SINGLE
17、 An actuation system in which the trigger and the safety yoke haveto be actuated in such a way that one single driving operation is initiated by the trigger, onlyafter the safety yoke has been applied to the workpiece. Thereafter, any further drivingoperations are initiated only after the trigger ha
18、s been returned to the starting position.MARCH 26, 2003 SUBJECT 7700-2-30 5f) SEQUENTIAL, FULL An actuation system in which the trigger and the safety yoke areinterconnected in such a way that one single driving operation is initiated by the trigger, onlyafter the safety yoke has been applied to the

Thereafter, any further drivingoperations are initiated only after both the trigger and safety yoke have been returned to thestarting position.5.102 FASTENER A nail, staple, pin, brad, screw used as a nail, sleeve or other fastening devicethat is designed and manufactured for use in the
20、tools within the scope of this outline.5.103 LIGHT-DUTY TOOL A tool meeting all of the following:a) A tool not capable of driving fasteners sized No. 18 ASWG (0.0475 inch diameter) orgreater;b) A tool not capable of driving a fastener greater than 25.4 mm (1 in) long;c) A tool with a maximum rated a
21、ir pressure not exceeding 100 psi.5.104 SAFETY YOKE An operating control element or assembly on the tool, intended to be actuatedby contact with the material to be fastened.5.105 TRIGGER The control device of the tool used to supply energy to the driving mechanism.6 General RequirementsThis Section
22、of Part 1 is applicable.7 General Notes on TestsThis Section of Part 1 is applicable.8 MarkingThis Section of Part 1 is applicable except as follows:8.1 Items (e) and (j) are not applicable.Add paragraphs:8.101 The tool or magazine shall be marked to identify the size or designation of the fasteners
