(UL) under its Follow-Up Service for this category within the limitations given below and in the Scope section of this Outline of

4、 Investigation. They are subject to revision as further experience and investigation may show is necessary or desirable. B. The observance of these requirements by a manufacturer is one of the conditions of the continued coverage of the manufacturers product. C. A product which complies with the tex

5、t of this Outline of Investigation will not necessarily be judged to comply with the Outline of Investigation if, when examined and tested, it is found to have other features which impair the level of safety contemplated by these requirements. D. A product employing materials or having forms of cons

6、truction which conflict with specific requirements of the Outline of Investigation cannot be judged to comply with the Outline of Investigation. A product employing materials or having forms of construction not addressed by this Outline of Investigation may be examined and tested according to the in

7、tent of the requirements and, if found to meet the intent of this Outline of Investigation, may be judged to comply with the Outline of Investigation. E. UL, in performing its functions in accordance with its objectives, does not assume or undertake to discharge any responsibility of the manufacture

The opinions and findings of UL represent its professional judgement given with due consideration to the necessary limitations of practical operation and state of the art at the time the Outline of Investigation is processed. 11、”grinders, die grinders and angle grinders.” This outline of investigation does not apply to sanders. I Replace item (9) as follows: g) “WARNING“ “To Reduce the Risk of Injury to Persons, Wear eye protection and always use proper guards when grinding. Use only accessories rated at least RPM.“ Exception No. I: The abbrevi

14、ation “RPW may be replaced with “revolution/min.“ Exception No. 2: “Use only accessories rated at least RPW is not required if the measured speed does not exceed the rated no-load speed as marked on the nameplate, see Section 9. The accessory speed marking shall be equal to or greater than the measu

15、red no-load speed. Exception No. 3: Grinders with 50.8 mm (2 in) diameter or less rated wheel size do not require “use proper guards when grinding.“ 8.1 Item (j), is not applicable. 16、uished by other means no less visible and shall be indelible. 8.1.102 Rated diameter of the grinding disk or polishing wheel. 9 Instruction Manual This Section of Part 1 is applicable except as follows: 9.2.3 Under Personal Safety, items (i), (j) and (k) are not applicable. Add items to 9.2.3, under

17、 Tool use and care: i) Always use proper guard with grinding wheel. A guard reduces the risk of injury to persons from broken wheel fragments. Exception: Only required if guard is provided. j) Accessories must be rated for at least the speed of the tool marked on the tool label. Wheels and other acc

18、essories running over rated speed can fly apart and result in a risk of injury to persons. Add paragraphs: 15.101 A flange or guard shall comply with the requirements for such parts for grinders in the Standard for Portable Electric Tools, UL 45. 15.102 A grinder having a rated grinding wheel diameter exceeding 50.8 mm (2 in) sha

21、ll be provided with a non-detachable guard having sufficient mechanical strength to contain any parts of the wheel thrown out in the event of wheel breakage. The opening in the guard shall not be larger than necessary for the intended function of the tool. 15.103 Grinders shall have only one rated no-load speed.
