3、 46.1.8Subject: Clarifying normal load run time for commercial inflatorsDECISION:46 Temperature Test46.1.8 An inflator default duty cycle rate is 15 min on, 5 min off.Exception: Commercial inflators employing a timer circuit that positively and reliably limits the length oftime the product can be op

4、erate shall be operated for the maximum preset duration of operation, followedby a period of 5 min “off”. Following the “off” period, normal load is applied again. This mode of cyclingshall be repeated five times. Temperatures shall be measured at the end of the 5th cycle of operation.RATIONALE FOR

5、DECISION:Commercial inflators that employ timer circuits may not able to operate for 15 min without bypassing thetimer circuits provided with the inflator. Therefore, this Certification Requirement Decision provides anexception to Clause 46.1.8, allowing commercial inflators provided with a reliable

6、 timer to be evaluated forthe intended duration prescribed by the manufacturer.Furthermore, since these products are oftentimes “pay for service” type of products, it is not anticipatedthat they will be operated continuously on a normal basis. Therefore, it is considered that the maximumnormal load
