24、ification was prepared by Technical Specification Group C of the Third Generation 3 Partnership Project 2 (3GPP2). This Specification contains the Introduction to the IMT-2000 4 CDMA Multi-Carrier Mode, IMT-2000 CDMA MC, also known as cdma20001. It provides a 5 specification for land mobile wireless

25、 systems based upon cellular principles. This 6 Specification includes the capabilities of Telecommunications Industry Association 7 Standard TIA/EIA-95-B. 8 This Specification provides the Introduction to the IMT-2000 CDMA MC air interface; 9 however, other specifications are required to complete t

28、ds includes core air interface, minimum performance, and 3 service standards (see section 1.3). The cdma2000 air interface standards specify a spread 4 spectrum radio interface that uses Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) technology to 5 meet the requirements for Third Generation (3G) wireless com

29、munication systems. The 6 core air interface standards in the family are 1, 2, 3, 4 and, 5. 7 Throughout the remainder of this document, use of the term cdma2000 refers to the 8 cdma2000 family. 9 1.1.1 Scope 10 The technical requirements contained in cdma2000 form a compatibility standard for 11 CD

30、MA systems. They ensure that a mobile station can obtain service in a system 12 manufactured in accordance with the cdma2000 standards. The requirements do not 13 address the quality or reliability of that service, nor do they cover equipment performance 14 or measurement procedures. 15 Compatibilit

31、y, as used in connection with cdma2000, is understood to mean: any 16 cdma2000 mobile station is able to place and receive calls in cdma2000 or IS-95 systems. 17 Conversely, any cdma2000 system is able to place and receive calls for cdma2000 and IS-18 95 mobile stations. In a subscribers home system

32、, all call placement is automatic. 19 Similarly, it is preferable for call placement to be automatic when a mobile station is 20 roaming. 21 To ensure compatibility, both radio system parameters and call processing procedures are 22 specified. The sequence of call processing steps that the mobile st

33、ations and base stations 23 execute to establish calls is specified, along with the digital control messages. 24 The base station is subject to different compatibility requirements than the mobile station. 25 Radiated power levels, both desired and undesired, are fully specified for mobile stations,

34、 in 26 order to control the RF interference that one mobile station can cause another. Base 27 stations are fixed in location and their interference is controlled by proper layout and 28 operation of the system in which the station operates. Detailed call processing procedures 29 are specified for m

35、obile stations to ensure a uniform response to all base stations. Base 30 station procedures, which do not affect the mobile stations operation, are left to the 31 designers of the overall land system. This approach to writing the compatibility 32 specification is intended to provide the land system

36、 designer with sufficient flexibility to 33 respond to local service needs and to account for local topography and propagation 34 conditions. 35 cdma2000 includes provisions for future service additions and expansion of system 36 capabilities. This release of the cdma2000 family of standards support

Backward 2 compatibility permits cdma2000 infrastructure to support TIA/EIA-95-B mobile stations 3 and permits cdma2000 mobile stations to operate in TIA/EIA-95-B systems. 4 The cdma2000 family
