4、T ENGINE GENERAL SPECIFICATION FOR1.SCOPE:1.1Scope:This specification covers the general requirements for pneumatic control valves for use with the starters on aircraft gas turbine engines.This specification shall be used in conjunction with AS943, ARP949, and AIR1639.1.2Classification:Pneumatic sta
5、rter control valves shall be one of the following two types:a.Type I: Regulating (pressure)b.Type II: Nonregulating (on-off)The type will be assigned by the procuring activity in accordance with MIL-STD-875 and shall bespecified in the model specification.2.REFERENCES:The following documents, of the

17、fication are as specified below:2.3.1PROCURING ACTIVITY:The procuring activity is responsible for the valve contract.2.3.2PROOF PRESSURE:Proof pressure is that internal pressure to which all high pressure valve partsare pressure tested to prove their structural integrity without causing damage.2.3.3
18、MINIMUM BURST PRESSURE:Minimum burst pressure is the greatest applied internal pressure towhich the valve can be subjected before ultimate strength of the valve is exceeded.2.3.4TRANSFER TIME:Transfer time is the time interval from the removal of the valve or component fromone conditioning chamber t
19、o the insertion of the valve or component into another conditioning chamber, or the time interval from the removal of the valve or component from the conditioning chamber to theinitiation of testing.2.3.5RATING:A rating is the value of some characteristic of performance as specified in the modelspec
20、ification. The valve shall be rated at that condition at which its associated starter is rated unless otherwise specified by the procuring activity. This is typically APU standard day sea level operatingconditions.2.3.6MODEL SPECIFICATION:The model specification referred to herein is defined as the
21、valve supplierprepared document used to define a particular valve.2.3.7DETAIL SPECIFICATION:The detail specification referred to herein is defined as a procuring activityprepared document used to define the applicable design and performance parameters required for a particular valve application.SAE
22、AS1607 Revision A- 4 -2.4Symbols:The units for these symbols are defined herein:a.G: Gravitational constantb.T: Temperaturec.Wv: Total weight of the valved.P: Pressure3.REQUIREMENTS:3.1Preproduction:This specification makes provisions for preproduction testing.3.2Model Specification and Data Submitt
23、al:When specified in the procurement contract, a valve model specification conforming to the outline and instructions for preparation specified herein, shall be prepared by the valve supplier and submitted bycontractor to the procuring activity for approval (see 2.3.6 and 6.2). The model specificati
24、on shall provide all the necessary information to completely describe the starter control valve for one system application.Approval of the model specification is required prior to initiation of preproduction and quality conformance testing.
