ITU-T Recommendation G.871N.1301 Framework for optical transport network Recommendations Summary This Recommendation concerns the Optical Transport Network (OTN) and gives an overview of the
7、 ITU-T Recommendations on the different aspects of OTNs. It provides a framework for their development, indicating the rationale followed in their preparation together with the linkages among them. The time-frame for the development of these Recommendations is also provided. Source ITU-T Recommendat

9、EWORD The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) is the United Nations specialized agency in the field of telecommunications. The ITU Telecommunication Standardization Sector (ITU-T) is a permanent organ of ITU. ITU-T is responsible for studying technical, operating and tariff questions and iss
10、uing Recommendations on them with a view to standardizing telecommunications on a worldwide basis. The World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly (WTSA), which meets every four years, establishes the topics for study by the ITU-T study groups which, in turn, produce Recommendations on these to
11、pics. The approval of ITU-T Recommendations is covered by the procedure laid down in WTSA Resolution 1. In some areas of information technology which fall within ITU-Ts purview, the necessary standards are prepared on a collaborative basis with IS0 and IEC. NOTE In this Recommendation, the expressio
12、n “Administration“ is used for conciseness to indicate both a telecommunication administration and a recognized operating agency. 18、is to provide a framework for coordination among the various activities in ITU-T on Optical Transport Network (OTN), in order to ensure that Recommendations covering the various aspects of OTN be developed in a consistent and exhaustive way. As such, this Recommendation provides references for defin
19、itions of high-level characteristics of OTN, along with a description of the relevant ITU-T Recommendations, together with the time-frame for their development (which are either already prepared, or under development). Note that the development of many of these Recommendations will be phased to addr
20、ess the pace of technology. It is also the purpose of this Recommendation to provide guidance to the reader of OTN Recommendations, indicating the linkages among them and the rationale followed in their preparation. NOTE - Initially, the OTN Recommendations described will consider only digital clien
