3、60 millimeters in diameter, Wilkens-Anderson No. 29025, or equivalent (8) Absorbent paper, Kleenex, Kimwipes, or equivalent PROCEDURE (1) Run this test three times for each paint sample being tested. (2) Using appropriate solvent, adjust approximately 150 milliliters of paint which has been prepared

4、 for testing according to the steps outlined in Engineering Material Specification G-5, Part I, Section B under ”Sampling Procedure”, to a viscosity, as measured with a No. 4 Ford Cup per ASTM D 1200, of + 1 second of the minimum as received viscosity specified on the appropriate grade sheet in Engi

5、neering Material Specification G-5. (3) Determine the nonvolatile content by weight of the adjusted paint from step (2) using Test Method GT-1A. Record this as value W. (4) Clean three aluminum discs in acetone or methyl alcohol, dry in an oven at 104 + 1C (220 + 2F) CURRENT ISSUE DATE: August 2009

8、 average of the ten cryptometer readings. 5.A REPORT Report the average cryptometer reading in square feet per gallon. 2B DRY FILM 2.B MATERIAL 2.B.1 Steel panel, 150 x 300 mm (6 x 12 inches). 2.B.2 Black and Gray Morest Chart. 3.B PROCEDURE 3.B.1 Tape a black and gray Morest Chart to the ground sid

9、e of the panel so that approximately 25 mm (1 inch) of the panel extends beyond the edge of the Morest Chart. 3.B.2 Prepare the panel according to the procedure specified for the appropriate grade in Test Method GT-13, “Panel Preparation”. Dry the panel according to the oven drying procedure specifi

10、ed therein. The dry film measurement will be made on the portion of the panel which was exposed to the spray. 3.B.3 Examine the surface of the Morest Chart with the unaided eye using a reasonable intensity of diffused light, preferably northern sky light. Evaluate the hiding power of the paint. 4.B REPORT Report the dry film of thickness necessary to completely hide the black and gray Morest Chart.
